I am looking to do a project car but am not sure if I should put a 302/351 into an XF or get a Boss 260 to put in it. Not sure if it will fit etc or can you put a windsor into a BA. Trying to find a direction here so any help or info would be appreciated

Any of them will fit either of those cars. It's just that the emissions requirements of the Windsor into the B-series will be a taller order.
If you're leaving the 260 stock I wouldn't bother. Go straight for a 290 or greater.

No wuckers. Another option is to find an 03-04 Mustang Supercharged Cobra 4.6 engine. Approx an inch Smaller deck height so it's not so wide and massive power potential.
