AU falcon

whats the best oil to use can i use any automatic transmission oil or any oil i have been told i have to use a certain type buti cant work out why

Just buy some of this from Supercheap, Repco, Autobarn, etc. You are talking about fluid for an automatic transmission?

If you have a owners manual or workshop manual, it will specify the type in there.

yer mate an auto gearbox and thanks i was only asking cos someone told me it had to be a certain type for fords thats all cheers again

yep i got a dex lll does it have to be that if so whys that or is that just the best one to get sorry just trying to learn a bit about things and do u know how much it will take not sure if the convertor is empty or not

We tend to stick with the manufacturer's recommendations as they've done testing back up their specs.

CORRECTION: Castol TQ95 is the correct ATF for 4 speed BTR autos as mentioned in the post and thread below.

Castrol tq95 in the btr 4 speeder.
Dexron is a holden auto fluid.
Do not run dex 3 in a ford 4 speed trans.
Go to the Castrol site and type in your model and I guarantee it will recommend tq95,its made specifically for the btr ford 4 speed.
Every 4 speed auto from ea to au is meant to run tq95.
Only time you run dex 3 in a falcon is in a manual box.
Its to do with friction coefficient or something similar,the oils are different and have different properties.
