Hi all

I would like to know what is the minimum piston to head clearance anyone has run. My pistons are out the deck .003" would the AU .025" MLS gasket be two tight

Thanks

I can't tell you what the minimum piston to valve clearance is but here are some threads that talk about how much to take of the head. Are planning on installing a high lift cam or just wanting to raise the compression ration?

I'm trying for more comp without machining the head, been reading and fixating on quench.

With the theory being that when the piston only just doesn't kiss the head at full revs you got it right. So this situation allows more compression.

Trying to get max out of small cam crow 2222549 for street driving manual. At 160rwkw with 3.7 diff, 10.3 comp now, so relatively cheap to change gasket.

But not knowing how .022" static clearances turns to dynamic clearance at 5800rpm, could run out of luck and smash my $7000 motor. But if it works and I get to much comp and detonate I'll just step up cam duration.
