Does anyone know where I can get a cheap priced taillight loom for Ford AUII?

Left side brake light holder that holds the globe cracked where the bulb pins are held. Bulb was rattling inside taillight.

I tried local wreckers, no joy, all wires have been removed. Ebay no joy, not paying $95.00 for a loom.

I take it this must be a common fault with Ford AU's?

Here is one that is $43.00 and is near to you:

MAYBE, this one? hard to tell:

You might also get away with using a BA one? not sure as I don't have both to check out. They are cheaper for some reason?

Papa Smurf.

Thanks for your help mate,

That BA one looked very similar to mine. maybe there is some commonality in the wiring look, tail lights at least.

That second link is identical to what my taillight is.

Try auto elect. or supercheap or similar for replacement socket and solder to wiring
Check it works before soldering

Supercheap don't stock any.

If the socket is made from bakerlite then it will go brittle over the years and easily crack, so I'm told.

It would be good if one knows who manufactured those sockets, one can buy a few sockets bit cheaper.

doubt very much that it's "bakerlite" & plastic has more chance of going brittle 1st.

I had same issue with my dads AU. Got a socket with some loom from a wreckers and soldered it on to the existing loom :)

^^^ simplest and easiest way. You have a choice of AU/BA/BF wagons to source.

Thanks fellas,

I'll be doing that, hopefully not all models have had their taillight looms removed.

I'll be soldering plug to existing wires if need be (worse case scenario)

Thanks
