First post ever, & it's a strange one!

I have an 8/00 AUII wagon (forte'), standard dash.
When I turn the heater vent selector to the left side of the dial... nothing changes.
Should blow air to face (either recycle or fresh) but continues blowing on windscreen.
I can hear the recycle door open & close, but only the windscreen gets air.

The select options on right side of the switch work fine, although I personally don't like the fact it blows cold air in my face whilst simultaneously blowing hot on my feet... as per the dial illustrations.

I should be able to get hot air blowing on my face & feet at the same time but I am confused
by the fact the right side dial illustrations say only "hot to feet + windscreen", or "cold to face + hot to feet".
Left side of the dial has "face fresh air" or "face recycle air" or "windscreen" , that's it & no mention of HOT or COLD. Dial illustrations are not worn either so it's not like I'm missing something. Left side is faulty & right side makes no logical sense.

I also have a 4/00 Fairmont with ECC & I get all the hot air I want from that dash, from any vent. As you should!

So what's the difference or what's broken ?
Any chance this has been discussed before ?

Seems to be a weird set up on the AU heater.

Only has the 2 lower options (on the dial selector) for air recycle, all others suck in fresh & fumes.
Add to this the issue of not getting air through face & foot vents from the left side of the dial.
I can hear things moves in the dash when I select the options, but no air flows, only to windscreen.

The right side of the vent selector dial all works.

So I'm guessing there's a slipped linkage or similar on the system, therefore not allowing the vents to switch?
I'm only guessing unless someone's had this issue before.

I came to realize that the face vents do blow air on the 2 settings in question, but only when the temp' is set to cold.

Not ideal. Do all standard AU falcons do this?

My AUII fairmont blows hot through any vent when selected. So is this just my wagon, or is this a common thing?
