G'day,
Two days ago I had a need to take the front tyres off my car. I noticed the driver side tyre is badly worn on one side and don't know what the cause might be. The wear is noticeable on the inside of the tyre, i.e. closest to the engine side. Picture is attached. Does anyone know what the cause might be? Passenger side tyre does not have same wear. Could be Upper inner control arm bushes? Lower control bushes? and could be a Shock absorber?

I had the lower control arm ball joints replaced with oversize and also changed the lower control arm bushes about 18 months ago, it was a big job , neighbour next door where I used to live had a 20 ton press.
Upper control arm bushes were replaced with those Blue Super Pro Nolathane bushes some time ago Could be the case of new Shock Absorbers. How does one check to see if Shock Absorbers are stuffed? Thanks |

When did you last have a wheel alignment? Have you driven into any kerbs lately when parallel parking, or large potholes?

Wheel alignment was done some time ago, Queensland roads where I am always have pot holes and getting worse on some secondary roads. I do my best to avoid those bastards.
Last time I had a wheel alignment camber was out and shims would be needed to correct the drifting to the left (have not done it yet). I always had the far outer tyres wear first, this time only one tyre is affected and its wearing from the engine side this time. |
