Changed my whole exhaust system today. Got Pacemakers fitted instead of the genies that were on there. Seems like it has better flow because the engine revs easier but the sound of it....well there is no meaty sound now. There is a very low subwoofer type effect but theres not enough flow in the I6 for it to come out so people cant hear it.
I was more after the performance not the sound, cause it already had a good sound but it almost sounds like a stock exhaust now.

I love pacemakers. Wouldnt choose any other brand.

Yeah I reckon Pacies are the go too.
Though I'd say that the new mufflers etc have more to do with the change in note.
What are the details on the rest of the system?
Anything that performs better and is a bit quieter seems like a good thing.
Unless u want the extra attention from old bill.

cheers

2 1/2 inch with chrome tip. I've been looking at the cat and muffler and I dont think they are high flow. Maybe thats what it is. My other EF with the same system has a hell meaty sound that sounds like a V8 and it has numbers and stuff stamped on the cat and muffler. The ones I got today look stock. I might go back and ask the question.

Cost me $1000 and was done at Midland Quickfit Exhaust centre in the Bunnings carpark.
They have it for about 2.5 hours.

That price seems a bit steep no offence, would of thought you would of got a bit of a discount having it all done at once!
It should get a bit louder as carbon or what ever it is builds up in the exhaust system...

The other EF/L you hear around perth are probably only running a single straight though muffler and hence sound loud and IMO stupid. I have a single centre offset muffler with a rear resonator and its much nicer than a loud drone that Im hearing too much of lately *spew*.

As for the above comment, an exhaust gets quieter with carbon build up, it doesnt get louder. It takes roughly a week to 'run-in' your new exhaust, and the note will change after a while, though it wont be getting louder.

PS I also agree on the somewhat excessive cost. If your happy then thats all that counts 8-)

I've just compared the two cars and the one I got fitted yesterday has a rear muffler/resonator and the other does not. As long as it is not restricting the flow I dont care.
I'm going to see them today to ask the question in a nice way. You get know where when you go in agro.

i had pacies fitted with a full 2.5" redback exhaust system. give it all about 1000kms before it settles in properly and u get the "real" note its meant to have :) i thought mine sounded a bit tinny and empty when i first got it, now it has a nice low note, and roars at open throttle :D

very happy with pacies, might not have got them if it wasn't for the good advice from the forums :)

Yeah,

You cant go wrong with a 2 1/2 inch straight through, 1 muffler, 1 resinator on an I6, espacially with some good extractors.

Got my set up the other day, opened her right up, gives a good note.

Yeah im still waiting on my HPC Pacemakers! Im getting it installed probally after christmas depending how finance goes  I have already ordered them so even if they dont get installed straight away they are still mine :D

Im interested to see what they would sound like thou, my exhaust is stock however the resonator has been removed and its sounds really nice. So it might be interesting to see if the note changes at all when i get the paccies installed.

But yeah im more worried about how much rwkw i will get out of them thou...Im hoping after the paccies are on then i will be looking at over 130rwkw. Hopefully
