I put Shell Helix Plus 15W/40 and the car ran so much smoother compared to the 20W/40 I and the garage usually put in. My car would be of similar age to yours but I doubt you have 220000K on the clock.

LOL!

Yea I was that night, apologies!

I use Shell Helix Plus 15W/40 synthetic stuff in the EL XR6 and it seems to run great. Although I MAY try this Penrite HPR 15 stuff as it seems to be popular, although that could be cause there are a lot of biased people on here?!? :P

Used 20w50 redline in the other AU with the stage 2 crow cam which was an awesome combo but due to the tickford engine being stock and not being able to afford it, I switched to my next favourite, Fuchs Super GTO ultra high performance 10w30. So far excellent performance and economy (720-800 km/tank on hi way)
Only thing is that it doesn't contain poly ol ester in it, instead the P.O.A. stuff which ain't quite as good.

Everybodies car responds different to the same oil. If you've got a crow or other hi performance cam, a slightly thicker oil would be good.
10w40 redline oil made the forte AU run like crap with the crow in it. why I don't know

Reputable brands
Fuchs Titan, Amsoil, Royal Purple, Gulf Western Oil, Penrite, Elf,

There are other lesser know brands, ULX 110 being one of them
