Today I put a pod filter in my au air box, took a bit of stuffing around, but god damn did i notice the difference in performance. I haven't put got the tickford snorkel yet, nor have i put a secondary hole in the air box yet. I was very pleased with the performance and would suggest this to any one.

Appolagise if im rambling on, its probably the alcahol talkin.

Happy new Year to all

I put the pod in my airbox too and cut a big hole in the bottom to the wheel arch but didnt notice any diff. Was hoping it would be louder but no luck there either  Good to see you got some reward for your hard work though!

Well because the pod filter sits on an angle in the air box, pointing down towards the front side of the air box, i am going to cut another hole down the bottom in that same place and run some tubing from there down to where the mesh grill in my front skirt will be(Getting the bodykit in about a month) so there is nothing but cool air coming in that pipe, and the cooler the better.

The pod filter on a dyno according to autospeed has 2/3rwkw less then a k&n/redline panel filter.

as mentioned, unless you have air rushing through from underneath the box or ontop via a sequential/custom scoop they're pretty pointless as they make more noise and dont produce much more power.. hence why you barely see them on n/a applications on the 6's ..

get a decent panel filter, i dyno'd my car with a s**t dirty filter and with a clean redline one on a hot run we got over 3rwkw.. so theres something to think about

I've researched this a few times, and I think the best and simplest way is to use a K&N panel filter and a Tickford AU 3 Intake.

A Pod would be nice but it's a lot of stuffing around to get it into the air box, and to have a Pod with out sealing it in a Air Box is a just useless.

YeaH I think the Alcohol was definately talking as you will find, at first It might feel like you have gained extra KW's but it is all an illusion as the extra noise makes it so. As I had also had fitted a Pod inside my Airbox sometime back and in the end after a bit of driving I noticed I had less Power/Torque. Try going up a good size hill with it and you will see you will have to put your foot down more. So I ended up putting back me K&N Panel filter back in :D

Well mine is sealed in side the air box, and second my car used to have a real dead spot from take off,and when it first kicked done a gear, now it doesn't, i didn't think it would make much difference either, but it did.Once i get the rest of my parts im gona get it dyno'd with and without it to see if it did, well so i've got some hard facts anyway.

The super sallon cars run a Pod in open air, no box.
Cant be that bad
I got on in a box, kinda.

Ive cut the lid off the box, waititng for a sequential scoop.
I noticed a difference, mainly up top.
