I have 3k now is it worth selling my ea to get something faster, or someone tell me what i have to do to beat a mates rex, just str8 line, i know it may seem childish, but i dont give a rats, i will gladly blow my whole 3k on the engine if it will give him a bit of a shock, its standard with 170k on the clock, i know cam and exhaust, etc, but surely with 3k you can do something more serious?

3 grand wont get you within a mile of a WRX. those things f**k fly. Not alot of power out of a stock one, but thats not the point, the point to the WRX is the weight.

do you like your EA?
is it in good nick. if you want to get rid of it you might get a 1000 to 3000 for it. you might be able to pick up an EB xr6 if your lucky. personly i don't like EA falcons. so 'I' would get a better car. you have 3000 now if you save a few more months you might have 4000 then what you could get for you EA even if it's only 1500, you could get your self into an EF gli, or if you hunt around and take your time you may just score a realy good car for bugger all money, it does happen, the $6500 EF XR6 5 speed in my drive way proves that. http://www.fordmods.com/phpBB2/viewtopi ... c&start=20 my car is at the bottom of that page |

A standard BA turbo is quicker than a standard WRX, and look how slow they are, WRX's ain't fast unless wanked up. |

5spd conversion = 1k installed
minispool or lsd with 3.9s = 1k wade cam = $200ish exhaust = 250 extractors. = 400ish money to spare get some clear indicators = $35 volvo thermofan = $100 and a good clean she will do low-mid 14s with this package.  so if you can drive you should beat ur mate in his wrx if its stock
if he doesnt do high RPM clutch dumps on take off(which puts alot of strain on the whole car and is bad for it, which is why f**k all wrx drivers do it), WRX arent that quick. So you should beat him then. |

for another 600 bucks you can get a 50hp nos shot.
which would definately give u the edge, and wont be enough power to blow ur motor up

hmmmm, 3 grand aint gonna get you close to a WRX, but if you wanna give your car a tickle:
shift kit lower diff ratio 2 1/2 inch exaust extractors ef head+BBM bigger injectors new cam should give it a new lease on life, and if you shop around youd have change from your 3G

Stock 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX does like 14.4 , and if we are talking about a stock 2004 model sti they do like 13.2
Pretty fast.. i dont know if 3 grand could get either 1 of them,
