black plastic cap with ring clamp that was on the fuel pump cap does it matter if you dont put it back on after you replace everything as it was a prick to get off without the tool

Depends - do you smoke?
Seriously - the black cap is a seal to stop fuel vapour entering the boot and then cabin. Put it back on

yea was pretty freaky, everyone took off as soon as they seen it, it took 2 extinguishers to put it out, it also melted my brake light cables into my speaker cable, so it blew my headunit when i put the brakes on, and for some reason the key wouldnt crank the startermotor after this, so for the next week i had to do the screw driver accross the startermotor to start it, finally got off my a** and rewired it though .. o and i had to pay $140 to get the extinguishers refilled.
