Just a quick question,

If I was to do a v8 conversion to my EL Fairmont.

Do you need to change the dash? Like the tacho?

No, wouldn't have thought you'd need to change the dash cluster.

just go & trade in your current car and get a 5.0L it saves you money if you dont have the means or equipment or time.

The job would not be hard if you had a donor car sitting there to take reference from. Otherwise confusing is the word. I suggest it would do your head in!

Why would you want to do this anyway? I know V8's sound delicious, but with such similar power output from the I6.......I really don't see the need.

Spend you money on a supercharger or better a turbo for your car, and you'll wonder why you ever worried about a V8.

Yeah I know but......The sound of a decent cam'd v8 is well........f**k AWSUM!

You cant beat a v8 for sound + throttle response!

Anyway im just thinking of either turbocharging my 6 which would give me heaps of power but then have lag and s**t throttle response!

Or on the other hand if I got a v8 manual with decent heads/cam and all the normal stuff It would be quick but also sound awsum be lumpy at idle and have awsum throttle response that only a worked N/A v8 can produce!

Im a mechanic by trade also so doin the work isnt a problem.

i could not agree more...... go a turbo on yours, it will be quicker, better to drive and cheaper to get good power out of it.

This is true and more than likely will go the turbo!!!

Just have to save up some more!

Has anyone heard from 6boost lately or know where he has gone?
As he was going to make me an exhaust manifold. He knows his s**t when it comes to turbos!

The turbo ive been looking at is a 700hp roller bearing garret and just wanted to know 6boosts opinion!

Only problem now is finding a 5speed manual that will handle the power!!!
As I doubt the t5 will!
