my understanding was that exterior mounted gauges must be able to break off with reasonable force for the safety of pedestrians. Ensuring this though, makes it an easy target for a bastard theif or something.

Cheers the old school racers liek them for the fact they provide much more accurate and faster response to changes in oil,fuel pressure etc the electrical ones can tend to have a dampening efect so they are not going up and down with the revs

ive been defected for having gauges on the skuttle/cowl.
there was about 3 reasons why they were illegal one was somthing to do with pluming oil in front of the winscreen. |
