anyone in melbourne that needs to remove a AU steering wheel can come down to our shop and borrow our tool to remove the screws. it has to be used at our premises though.

surely some other workshops around OZ have these tools.
put your name down for people on FM to come and use them.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm ending up going with Q ford. They are doing it at a great price because the guy i got the wheel off knows one of the mechanics.
The other prices i got were:
Metro ford @ fortitude valley- $93
Southside ford @ the gabba- $85
Bryan Byrt ford @ mt gravatt- $70
What ripoffs... if only i had the screwdriver... *sigh*

I rang 4 Ford dealers before I could get this tool its made buy a engineering company in Waverly Vic. They some how have a problem selling you the torx bit. Might think you want to flog air bags for a living.

Just got the latest 'Burson' catalogue and they are selling "TS Star Bits to Suit Tamper Proof 5 Point Torx Fasteners".

I'm pretty sure these will work to do the job. They sizes TS10 TS15 TS20 TS25 TS27 TS30 and TS40, $23.95 for the lot.

Burson part no. 70930

they don't include the t-50 bit though... which is what you need to get the wheel off!

This is a 5 point set ie TS- The T-50 you need to remove the wheel is a 6 point Torx Bit.

The T50 isn't the problem here, you can buy them anywhere. The 5 pointed ones are the problem.

I went to Repco, Bursons and Alltools in Ferntree Gully but none of the 5 sided T s/bits fitted they had for sale and that was about 6 months ago.
They are a hard torx bit to find as Alltools said if I could supply the bolt head they might be able to find something to fit. The thing is I had to get the bolt out in the first place.
