casey stoner looks set for a big year with ducati this year. he would be stoked winning his first motogp with the big boys in a one on one with rossi. if rossi's yamaha had a bit more pace in a straight line he probably would've won but that ducati just went passed him like he was going backwards.

broke race lap record in the process even though they are back to 800cc.

not a massive follower of motogp but i do follow it. d.pedrosa is another young un thats been coming through with stoner. looks a good competition this year.[/b]

not a huge fan of motogp myself but any sport with a young aussie up the front is good to see.

rnd 2 in jerez didn't go quite so well for stoner. the major straight line speed advantage was not there and his tyre choice forced him backwards in the early stages waiting for the tyres to come into there own, which they eventually did but with only about 10 laps to go. he got back to 5th though and was fastest on track for the last 10 laps but left himself too much to do.

rossi was in his own league again. pedrosa looks like one to watch as well.

Rossi is on a mission this year after what happened last year he's going to be hard to beat, i agree that pedrosa will have a big year same as Stoner if he can stay on the bike and not slide it down the road

stoner does it again. moved easily up to 2nd from 4th on the grid partway rnd lap 1, then rossi ran wide and gifted him the lead and from there he was never challenged.

unfortunately for the other aussie vermeulen, he was an innocent victim of a big pile up. showing a lot of fight though he picked up his bike and got back on fighting his way back to 11th. he was also lapping as quick and sometimes quicker than stoner. his team mate finished 5th or something (hopkins) so had he not fallen off it may have been a good race for the aussies.

apparently rossi expects the big ducati's to do well in the next race also (china) as it is another fairly fast circuit.

lets hope stoner can keep it going.

im a huge follower of motogp, it is the most exciting racing you have ever seen.

was a great race to watch last night, stoner had it from the get go basically, but the scrap for 3rd and 4th was a stunner

yeah was a great race. funny how the tyres or performance varies. early on it looked like capirossi was going backwards but later in the race came back to 3rd. could've been any one of 5 riders though. hopkins, baros, capirossi, hayden, all together for lap after lap.

STONER DOES IT AGAIN

http://www.motogp.com/en/motogp/motogp_ ... &section=2

didn't see this one as good ol ch 10 has it on tonight and the race was last night. watching news on ch 9 and suddenly theres the results so spewin.

will be interesting to see how he goes from here as the 4 races so far have been fast circuits, well suited to his ducati's straight line speed advantage.

one wrong move and rossi is there ready to pounce. shaping up for a good year.

personally i think a lot of credit has to go to the bike as had he been on a honda or yamaha he may not have 3 wins to his name. having said that you have to be a good rider to be picked up by the top teams and it is a team so its rider and bike .

a lot more credit has to go the the rider tho. watched it live yesterday, good race.

rossi was trying to take stoner on a corner but ran ultra wide and into the grass. commentators just sayin it was a move of a desperate man. no doubt the bike is good, but stoner is riding very well, and very well under pressure, not making 1 mistake for the entire race. he really has matured since last year
