Hey guys, this is kinda urgent as im driving up to Queensland next wednesday night, and dont wana be doin a 12 hour trip with worn shocks!

What are the best shocks i can get for my el xr8?

I dont wana spend insane $$$$, but want something is of real good quality.
Also, i intend on lowering the car in the not too distant future, and want shocks that are compatible with say 2" lowered springs.

Also, what sort of $$$$ do you think the suggested shocks will cost? By the way, i can get them at wholesale price, so it kinda helps a bit! ;)

By the way, i have been told that pedders shocks start leaking oil after a while of use by a few people, including my mechanic!

Cheers guys!

Yeah ive been told real good things about Koni's too.
Do you know what they're worth?

Also, if im going to lower the car in the nearish future, should i get shortened shocks now? Ie. will shortened shocks work on a stock ride height? Or will i have to use normal length shocks?

Cheers!

About 3 years ago, i priced up Koni adjustable for my Ef XR8, from memory they were around the 340 mark for the fronts (each) and about the same for the rears. The great thing about Konis is they are rebuildable once the wear out :)

Go the Koni Red's - It will be cheaper if you get the springs and shocks done at the same time. Springs will only be an extra $200-$300 and install will be the same.

Ask the dealer when you get them if they are compatable at both ride heights but I think that they have different shocks for different ride heights.
