You need to remove the lefthand wheel arch. It is up in there.

My bet is that it is not grounded properly. When you change an Aerial you also need to clean out all the crap in there, cuz it can cause a faulty ground.
That is my two cents...

Yep, readjust your gorund. When i put my electric aerial in (4 dollars brand new from ford) the earth lead wasnt long enough, so i just twisted it around the old one. Had shocking reception, but eventually fixed it by earthing it :)

Its either that or check that the motor is always running.
I've noticed mine only has static on the way up or down.

The ground for the aerial is at the top where it passes through the guard.
The motor has its own earth wire in the two core cable, going into the motor assembly at the bottom.

No thats the easiest way, some people don't take the wheel off and just squeeze in next to it with the steering on full right lock. I find it easier with the wheel off, but then I have a rattle gun so taking a wheel off is not an issue.
Then you need to remove the mud flaps if installed, plastic guard linning from rear of guard (small piece) then remove the support bracket from the bottom of the aerial then the top nut. Once you have it out you need to clean the contact surface inside the top of the guard around the aerial hole.
