Yeah, they're definitely one of the best sounding head units you can purchase. The quality is second-to-none...

I was in two minds about getting an Eclipse (3434) unit, or an Alpine (9835) unit. I have basically settled on the Alpine because the Eclipse units DO NOT have a removable face. And I'll be damned if I am spending $800+ on a head unit that you can't even remove the face! It does have a CD that acts like a password if you reinstall it though.

Worth a listen though.

gday

the Eclipse units are absolutely brilliant in my opinion. they are much better in sound quality to the other brands i have had experience with (Alpine, VDO Dayton, Pioneer, Sony).
as for the non removable face, they dont look all that flash, and the cd key feature is great as it renderds the head unit all but useless to anyone if they stole it anyway! and to be quite honest, the apearence isnt all that flash compared to something like an alpine anyway. but i usually dont go for asthetics when it comes to head units anyway, more sound quality, which is what they are designed for.
