Ford have decided to reduce it's support of some V8 teams next year due to poor sales of falcons.
They are only going to support Ford Performance Racing & Stone Brothers Racing. Triple 8 Racing, Britek Racing & DJR all be dumped of support next season. I guess in the case of Johnson, being loyal to Ford for the last thirty years including having to get Fords from the U.K (Seirra Cosworth RS500s) after Ford Australia pulled out of racing altogether doesn't count. Johnson is quoted in todays Daily Telegraph
"We'll see where it goes from here, I need a bit of time to think about things. I see no reason to stop being a Ford person"

It's a little premature of them considering the new model has just been released, but with fuel prices i guess all manufacturers are going to suffer in the large car market from here on.
It doesn't surprise me though, Ford have basically dumped customer service in favour of profits, so why not dump their race teams.

do not be surprised if you see Triple 8 and Lowndes driving commodores next year.

Ford, you should be ashamed.

Real sad news. I've been a huge fan of d**k Johnsons' especially. He was absolutely gutted with the news. You'd think Ford would have a little bit of loyalty.

Those orders would have come from above. I bet you there are a lot of gutted Ford staff too, especially the ones that had the give the teams the news.
Imagine being the one to have tell d**k Johnson that news...

Ford released the news to the press BEFORE they told d**k Johnson.

d**k only found out when a journalist asked him what his feelings were about Ford cutting his funding in 2009. d**k said... "What?!"

Lowndes is a Ford contracted driver so he wont be driving a Holden next year.
