$300 is a good price, for the full flush, no point in changing 4 out of 10 litres, would you only change 40% of your oil? go for it, mine cost 300 5 yrs ago to do.

There is only 1 filter which is on the pick up, the soleniods have inbuilt filters. The pan has to be dropped to do the service. there is a small magnet in the corner of the pan that collect any metal filings and deposits, there will be a black film also on the pan which is just residue from the wearing parts.

Unless you do burnouts in your auto by chucking it from N to 1st and redline it..... Then you might have a few nasties sittin in your pan.

Not that ive done it in the XR6 but the XF well yeah he he :)

So as i said the first time, $300 is a good price for a FULL flush, just dont get it done at repco!!!! :)

OK then, anyone know a place in Perth (south of the river, around the Bentley/Cannington/Vic Park areas preferably) that goes the whole nine yards and is flexible in their payment options?

Yeah thanks mate! I ended up getting it done at this Repco place today and the Mechanic was pretty helpful and was very professional. He told me that their was only sludge in the bottom , lucky enough. He was a Ford man as well. He had a nice 69 Mustang sitting on a hoist and a lot of pics all over the walls of old 60's and early 70's Fords.

For any Southside Brisbane members I would recommend:
Athena Automatics Auto repair Centre
(Repco Franchise) 278 New Cleveland Rd, Tingalpa
Ask for Tony Ph:07-3390 6988

Not all repco mechanics are bad. They use the repco name under licence, the actual workshop is their own. A good mate of mine works at a mechanics (just him, the boss and one other) which recently stopped using the repco name, and now trade solely under their own name. Got sick of Repco's ways.
