Came across some previous project work on an XC that we did, I don't expect any interest much in this stuff and not too keen to do it either but if there is a steady stream on enquiry I might consider it.

Some pics to show the story. Power was 203rwkw from the X Flow at 10psi on LPG only

I have been trying to upload images of it but something wrong with forum, contacted brad and waiting for him to sort it

That's a pretty impressive number from a donk that in its day was good for less than 90kW at the flywheel at a mind-bending 3800rpm. It would have had some serious work done to it?

What sort of gas system did it have? GRA or Impco/OHG?

The gas system is all GRA, the cylinder head was alloy EFI type with EFI intake plenum arrangement. Of the notable things the head porting, valves and camshaft was about it. The supercharger was a very early Raptor R, has 5 speed T5 gearbox, goes to about 230kmh from a standing start in less than 1km of distance in ol XC ute.

What you see is XC ute with XE engine with injection intake and cast alloy tappet cover.

Compression is around 9:1, boost is 11psi, fuel is 100% LPG through a GRA system. Power on first rebuild was around 205rwkw, not tested in a long time but some more now.

ok, so what would be required to get a standard engine up to this spec?

You could do it on a stock bottom end, but need the right cam, plenty of head work is good too. Otherwise go the 11psi boost and you can make the power ok

Some of the ecus now will do self tuning..you just need a wideband 02 sensor and a fair bit of time

Crow do a blower cam that i used to run in my x flow and made 197 bhp with a ported cast iron head, roller rockers and extractors.
I would get the 250 balanced and get some stronger rod bolts(things i should have done)Run a decent cam and roller rockers and you should have no probs.
Dont get a hv oil pump because they dont like or need them(the octagon shaft that drives the oil pump from the dizzy will break)
Dont get flat top pistons, get the in between dished piston that acl does(my motor had way too much comp)
Also unless you rev the motor past 6000 rpm you wont be needing anti pump up lifters, they just make more noise than stockers.
Alloy xf carby heads flow the best in stock form so i would start with one of them.
These things in my opinion would make a nice reliable blown 250
Hope this info helps.

ok great info, now heres my aim
12psi, gas (doing over 800K a week now), 250xflow, water-air cooler, ported E2 head (400+hp na) fully balanced motor.

comp will probably be around 9:1 area too high/low?
T5z 2.92 LSD

looking to make 210rwkw with ease and truckloads of torque... unsure of how hard itl need to turn in order to make that power forced, im thinking itl probably end up peaking anywhere from 5000-5500rpm?

can i run P/S and A/C with the charger fitted?
