they sure do fairlane6970!!

spent the whole day in rockhampton @ pedders yesterday. had the following fitted
* sports ryder springs/ shocks
* pedders urethane bushes ( front end )
* steering rack
* power steering pump / hoses
* DBA x drilled/ slotted rotors ( front/ rear)
* bendix ulitmate pads ( front / rear )
* genuine ELGT wheels ridint on 235/45/17 toyo's ( HUGE thanks to Krytox)

the 160k drive home over rough, wet, winding roads was awesome. the car handles better than brand new now. its back to pedders saturday to get the rear bushes done. as its the missus's car ( technically ) she added her toch to the lane, a pair of sheepskin seatcovers. id much prefer the leather but.....
next on the list will be to get the lane resprayed in its original heritage green, darker tint, install the premium sound ( if i can find one in cappa), get some work done on the head so it flows better and finally an LSD.
im not sure what gears to have in the LSD. as i live in the country, i would like to still be able to do my 100 - 160km/h and for it to have plenty of take off at lights or when stopped. any suggestions as to gearing would be greatly appreciated.
pic will be posted very soon

cheers mick

Diff Gears? you're opening a can of worms there! i had 3.23's but have fitted another diff with 3.45's (same as XR's had) and it still does only 2000rpm at 110k's i have a set of 3.9's that i was gonna use but i think I'll stop spending on the NF and get my ol' ZD back on the road and keep the NF as a daily drive.

doesnt look too bad with the bodykit on it. im not going to put one on my lane, just respray it, same colour, and start investing in the running gear.

there was a guy on ebay selling kits for falcons and when i asked him he said that he had kits for the fairlanes, don't know if he'll split em but his user name on ebay is 0011hsv, try him maybe, or you'll have to make one out of two like the guy with the green NF did.

Yeah thanks mate, I may have to have something made up. Im thinking of having some skirts modded up anyway. Its a shame that they make the kit for the wagon and forget about the fairlanes.

Cheers

heres a list of what 10k covered. also take into account that out of the 10k was some freight. hard to get good parts up here in central QLD.
* pacemaker comp headers 4480, outlaw high flow cat, 2.5" redback mandrel bent exhaust, mega flow muffler, resinator, chromed twin tip $1500
* SS induction "big mouth" snorkel $315
* bosch motorsport 8mm leads / fusion platinum plugs $171
* K&N panel filter / oil filter $134
* DBA x drilled / slotted rotors (f&r), bendix ultimate pads, wheel bearing kits (f&r) $700
* genuine ELGT wheels, toyo 235/45/17 tyres $1900
* freight on the wheels / brakes / pads / bearings out of melbourne $262
* pedders sports ryder springs / shocks / all bushes / steering rack / power steering hoses & pump $4650 + carton of rum $65
* sheep skin seat covers $194
* dyno power run $50

total spent on fairlane so far $9941. some might say that i could have spent the 10k alot better but take this into account: needed the suspension / steering components / brakes taken care of ASAP which was majority of the cost. probably paid a little too much for the exhaust, but ya have to pay freight up here in central QLD which is always a b**ch.
next on the cards will be an LSD, not sure what gears, chip from chip torque, resprayed, staying with the heritage green, premium sound, if i can ever find one in cappa, serious head work and a shift kit put into the auto.
XR-LANE manuals are fun but im going to stick with the auto. the misus can have the lane, it was her xmas pressie. ive got an ED in the build currently.
can anyone recommend any good places to get the head done and where to get this premium sound from? thanks in advance
