Best way is to sign up to photobucket.com and go from there. Heaps easier and pictures are posted up better.

i finally did some more work on my car today.
i first ported the intake manifold out to 75mm to match throttle body, that worked out fine , did it with a die grinder.
then i tried to bore out the standard egr plate on the laethe to suit the TB aswell, i was half way through when it just fell apart, i found out that it cant be bored to 75, maybe 70.
so i ordered a new edelbrock spacer today, should b sweet.

since the manifold was off i went to install my new aeromotive FPR.
it came with no extra bolts so i tried to use my original standard bolts but they wouldnt screw in , different thread.
so i went down to the hardware store and found some that fit, they only cost me a dollar so that was cool.
and i had to buy a fuel pressure gauge for it also, so i can set it to the right pressure.

monday my spacer comes in and i will b fitting it straight away.

Are you running a 75mm T/B on that combo?

I had an AU EGR spacer that i was running for a while which i bored out to 70mm with no issues.

I'd just ditch the EGR spacer crap altogether and run a Tickford T/B, so much neater.

Yeah all the AFPR that i have seen/used have had different thread screws. The Mallory unit that my mate used came with the screws to suit.

Personally i wouldnt be running it on there yet though. So goodbye to throttle response and some low-end torque. I could feel the difference in loss of torque/throttle response going to a 70mm from a 65mm.

Space out your throttle bracket mount untill you get the full throttle, but you must check that the cable can still return to idle position easily. Its a PITA with a/market EGR spacers from the states, i just p****d off the Ford Racing EGR when i was running the Ford Racing 70mm T/B and used the previous mentioned AU 65mm EGR bored out to 70mm. So much easier for the throttle bracket mounting.

Yeah thats fair enough.
At the end of the day its about matching all the parts to each other to get the best results.
You can only help people so much.

You could almost sell the 75mm to fund a 70mm evenly.

im not worriied about it coz i know its not gonna b fast enough as a 5 litre anyway, so im just gonna get these things together first. get it dynoed. drive it till i have enough for a stroker kit. then stoke it. the boys at A1 said i can run my heads and cam with a stroker.

Thats a pretty expensive excercise.
Yeah that cam and those heads will go well on a stroker, it wont make much more of a peak power figure but the increase in torque will be pretty full-on.

Im pretty damn happy with the engine Leon has built for me. With a few little tickles i think the same engine combo will dip into the 12's with only drive-line changes.
It will be a year or two before i have a Dart block sitting on a stand at A1, every week when im down there having a chat to Dave he tempts me with one. Although when i do mine i'll be starting fresh with new heads and everything.
