So after a vacation from a decent Blue Oval I picked up a Mondeo XR5 Turbo as a daily driver..
The foray into FWD lasted almost a full year before the bug bit hard and a RWD that could tow a car trailer was needed again...

So enter my new noble steed:

12/2002 BA XR6 Turbo Sedan
206300 kms
4spd Auto
Premium Sound
Sunroof
Middle muffler chopped out
F6 Intercooler and 2nd Intake
19" Dark Agents

So she wasn't even in my possession for a week before stripping out the old engine oil sludge, new oil filter and oil, oil flush, plugs and coil packs were inserted into the XR's engine bay..
Is now running sweet as a nut, the slight miss at idle has been cured and next step is to deal with the droning exhaust and running fairly rich (360km per 60lt tank granny driving) 16lt/100km ish..

Any way onto pics!!!

The plugs that came out all looked like this, much better with standard bosch units installed and fired up first go - no miss 8-)

Next step is getting rid of the badges ( I swear I am allergic to badges on cars hahahah  ) and installing these in a pod (which is currently in Auspost land somewhere)

I like your car, nice and plain. The Spark plug doesn't look so good? maybe it is the pic but it looks like rust at the end?

the plugs had what seemed like Rust/Dirt on the ends - definitely not good either way...

Since servicing the XR it seems to be running alot smoother and I have just thrown 6 new coilpacks in and she seems to be a different car now   runs so much smoother, does not miss, more responsive - winner!!!

Plans are afoot to install the gauges in the dash pod and de-badge during my next lot of days off..

Pics will be posted of results

Ryan

Well time for an update...

Turned the heater onnon night after work and CRACK CRACK went the air mix shaft..
New shaft was obtained from fraud but havent put it in yet....

On a positove note I had the AEM wideband bung welded into the dump pipe, wired up the gauge and boost gauge too, installed into the dash pod..

Looks smick!!

On a bad note due to personal (health resons) I am forced to put the xr up for sale..

So if anyone would like a clean tidy xr6t see the for sale section..
