Ok then!!
I got excited and decided to install the Lowering Blocks. While I had the rear end up in the air I also adjusted the LoadHelpers. I backed them off and evened them up. I also got the grinder out and cut off the excess length of the bolts. 
And before and after shots. 
My driveway isn't exactly level, so I don't think the rear is actuall that low. What is obvious is that the rear is now lower than the front!! That will be rectified in due course. Also being done is removing the pinstripe. Part of it was already missing and it was quite faded. The offending stripe. 
And stripe gone. 
Thanks to my son Luke for his hard work removing the pinstripe. BenJ

how did u go about removing the strip?
those load helpers are cool...kinda...

I was going to remove them, but now that I think about it, if I leave them on, they give me some adjustability in how stiff the rear end is. And if I have to deal with a heavy load, it only takes a few mins to tighten them back up again. Cheers BenJ

Looks much better Ben, will be interesting to see how she looks with the front lower. Depending when you egt that done, we could be opposite as I intend to get the front struts from the EB into my wagon sometime this week. The backs will have to wait until Tuesday week though....

Mate - used a product from the hardwear (...) shop found in the painting department called a "sticker remover" which is found next to paint strippers etc etc. Worked sweet, although did require a bit of rubbing to collect all the sticky residue... Now that's good thinking. The equavilent of adjustable shocks on leaf springs. Cool. When doing the rear of mine over two inches with lowering blocks I was surprised it didn't actually look two inches lower myself. On a slight side note -- saw a dark blue EB wagon yesterday driving the other way on a 70km/h on ramp (was doing 100 the other way... This explains why I have a warning letter suggesting the authorities will restrict my driving priv's by removing license if so much as seen scratching ear without having two hands on the wheel in a 10 and 2 oclock position........) Ahem - ....... saw a dark blue EB wagon yesterday, admittedly driving the other way at a combined speed of 170, and it had super lows on the front and a standard looking a*** end! Hahaahahaha. Looked funny to me, but guess that's what you're stuck with if you ever carry anything in the back and still have the standard 500kg leafs... At least with standard XR6 sports springs in front it's not so bad. The two inches taken off the back should be sweet.... I've not driven a wagon with two inches out the back on standard leafs, but plenty of people do it - guess they don't carry loads in boot very often..... |

If you got a lowered wagon and wanted to carry loads maybe some air shocks could do the job?
They work great in my sedan, i use them to adjust the ride height.

Yeah - Was going to say something about that side of things, but would be showing contradicting arguments. This would confuse me.
However - I could get away with going on about "budgets" and therefore slink away with a certain amount of cool intact. |

Hey BenJ, nice pick up on the wagon, by reading i'm starting to get that itch to do something to mine lol, however on a different note, my wagon is also dual fuel, and have had trouble with the petrol just recently in two different ways, one there was a fuse which had corroded and I wasn't able to even start the car, secondly the fuel pump died replaced that and it was all good, however also check the connections for the switch if you haven't already mine are quite loose, don't come off while driving but if the switch popped out that would. I do apologise if you've already checked all of this.

I have been hard at it again, work that is, and am happy to report the Wagon now has no engine. Yay!!!!!

Now this stikes me as odd. The box is painted a blue/green colour. Could this mean it has been rebuilt at some point? 
I am very glad that I decided to swap another engine in, and not fix the engine the wagon. Look at what I found. 
Two of the bolts are missing on the left, and the top right bolt is loose. Good thing the engine was stuffed, and I couldn't give it a bootful! And not only that, the half moon rubber for the rocker cover gasket is missing too. No wonder there was a lot of oil and muck underneath. Now that the engine is out, I will be stripping out the LPG wiring and rewiring it all. I also intend to get the petrol side working so when the ED Ghia engine goes in it will run on either. The old alarm will be ditched, and the engine bay will be cleaned up as much as possible. I think the A/C compressor is the early EA type, so I will be swapping in the later type of A/C piping in preparation for a Serpentine Belt conversion. Can anyone confirm this is the older type?

Well done Ben, good move to get rid of the boat anchor. She sure has seen better days. Did you manhandle it out yourself or did you get help? I suspect a bloke of your stature managed it yourself
All the EB's I have, both Rach's and the blue one had the single air con connection. My late 90 EA II had the same type as you have. Cheers RD

nice work on the wagon... very jelous, I was looking very hard to get a black one.. found one in QLD it was a fairmont, immaculate condition, but they were after 6K for it  and it was too far away so I settled for the cardinal red (no complaints).. I can conferm the a/c pump is early EA - EBI, the leter version has only one bolt holding the hoses on to the pump...
