Hey Benj just a few simple questions

How come ya didn't just get paul to drill two holes to accomadate the washer nozzels?

Seems like a big job for a simple thing.

How far away is paint for the bonnet?

Do you require like an inspection on the bonnet as the OE one has been so heavyily modifed?

Or is it braced as orig. but anyway i am thinking that bonnet will look s**t hot painted in pearl black (that is the OE paint isn't it)

Cheers Geoff.

Q) How come ya didn't just get paul to drill two holes to accomadate the washer nozzels?

A) It looks much neater with the nozzles fitted where he has done it. I have the same on both my cars, its is much easier with later EB to EL cars as they have a different grill setup over the wipers.

Q) Seems like a big job for a simple thing.

A) It is actually quite simple thing to do with the standard jets.

Q) How far away is paint for the bonnet?

A) With any luck and time I will hopefully have the bonnet in primer this weekend and maybe pain by the following weekend. Hoping to get some leave soon to catch up on a lot of work.

Q) Do you require like an inspection on the bonnet as the OE one has been so heavyily modifed? Or is it braced as orig. but anyway i am thinking that bonnet will look s**t hot painted in pearl black (that is the OE paint isn't it)

A) All original bracing is in place as well as a little extra, so should be OK. I have had no issues with my bonnets and they have both been through inspections.

Q) but anyway i am thinking that bonnet will look s**t hot painted in pearl black (that is the OE paint isn't it)

A) That it should, trouble with Black is that any minor imperfection shows up, LOL why do I have to work with Dark colours, both my cars are Dark, Heritage Green (Modified Mix) and Navy Blue.

Iv'e had a good read through your build thread mate, your mods never cease to amaze me, it's inspiration for a couple of mods I got lined up :P. Out of curiosity did you get the EL handbrake to work properly or nah.

Cheers

Kyle

Actually, NO!!! LOL

I am yet to source some EL Rear Brake Rotors. Once that is done, I can convert the rear brakes to the later model setup, and get a working handbrake.

All the handbrake handle does now, is look pretty. LOL

Cheers

Well, I have an update.

Last week I redid the wiring for the thermo fans as I had a couple of instances where they did not turn on as expected. While I was at it I also modded the the 'ABS Check' light in the NL Instrument Cluster to light up when ever the fans are on, as well as adding in a manual overide switch for the fans. And just in time too, as coming back from the airport along Parramatta Rd, the outside temp was showing as 47C. The car kept nice and cool.

I took the Wagon for a spin up to the central coast to visit my good buddy Paulmac. While there I picked up a tool to remove the spigot bearing from the ED Engine. I had not taken the Wagon out on the road before, so I wanted to do a bit of an economy test with the LPG. I filled up the tank before leaving, and then refilled it after getting back. I am pleased to advise that the 240 kay round trip only cost $15 in LPG. Very happy with that.

Over the weekend I finally got around to installing some driving lights I had picked up. These are more for show, but I am surprised at how much light they do actually put out.

I wanted a slightly different look, and am very happy with the outcome.

You may also note that the Wagon now has white number plates. These are from my Red EB, which is now just a distant memory.

Cheers
BenJ

whilst i can understand all the old pics wont fit is a bit of a frustration, its not such a big deal to resize future pics to suit the forum layout.

from what ive seen a 720 pixel width fits fine. Ive always resized my pics below this anyway, as i dont see the point of having the pic so big everyone can see every molecule of dust on the car. Theres a resizng program which intergrates with windows, or you can use others to batch resize like irfanview etc.

yeahp- Agree Mr Mont. I do all mine at 600 width, and then put them all into a strip so that you actually see more images for your buck...

Here's the
SHOUT OUT TO THE GEEKs
from Benj.

By combining the glow effects of Red, Green and Blue at equal levels he creates an intense white on the road and a point of difference at night.

Unlike Police cars, by combining this system with a set of relays and switches Benj has timed it to his sub-woofer and hire's it out by the hour to raves, acid heads and childrens Christmas parties.
