hey all, this is my new wagon that arrives on sunday.

the story behind it, the fairlane got a cam install which went horribly wrong a week before rego needed renewal, so it came off the road while i sourced a new motor, ended up being 3 months off non stop issues, from engine mounts, to stall converter to gearbox... its all finally sorted but has a massive vibration at anything over 2000rpm, so it was decided to find another means of transport, i am currently driving a KF laser which i pimped up a bit with TX3 bumpers and wing, 16" chromies and had a small stereo installed, but seeing as tho my brother finally got his L's its going to him as a christmas present so i dont have the car much longer.

all looked grim untill i recieved a message from my old mate who said he tried to sell his EA S-Pac wagon but no one wants it, he said he wanted to sell it as he was re-locating and wanted to buy an ipod, funnily enough i had my ipod for sale so between us we decided on an agreement and on sunday he is driving it up. its been very well kept and is quite clean.

the details:
3.9L CFI
3 speed auto
clean interior but some dash panels and console have been painted
i believe it has a few spares in the boot
origional s-pac wheels
tinted windows
2.5" exhaust (not sure if it has a note or not)

the bad:
from what i have been told it needs a new steering rack and pump however it has a replacement pump and hoses in the boot so i wont know the condition of the actual steering rack untill it arrives up here in 2 days time. worst case i grab the one from the old guy around the corner who is stripping an EA Ghia

my plans: NEAT FAMILY CAR!!!
first up is to sus out this steering rack, see what needs replacing
then i will move onto the interior, as i mentioned the old guy around the corner who stripped the EA ghia, well he GAVE me a mint condition interior, trims and seats and after reading a few threads on here i found out if you swap the brackets from sedan to wagon you can fit them no probs (16 small welds) but will then house rear head rests and look pimp
re-spray the bottom of the dash either black or replace the colour panels to make it look origional
replace the console as i dont want speakers mounted there.
the boot will recieve custom make side box's that will house some speakers, amp and sub but ill go into details a lil later.

once it has rego ill be doing the MPFI conversion, as i only done this 3 weeks ago on a mates car its fresh in my mind, tho he has massive timing issues before the conversion so he isnt happy with the conversion and wants to swap it back and sell it. (long story)

im considering the T5 install but im not too sure just yet.
i have lined up a set of SL king springs for the front and im hunting for some 2.5" lowering blocks for the rear...
if the exhaust doesnt have a loud note ill get that seen to aswell.

the stereo system will consist of (keeping in mind this is all my old/left over gear)
front splits will be VDO dayton 5 1/4 (should fit into the factory holes without the plastic box thing thats there if not ill make them fit)
im going to throw a set of either JL audio 4" or fusion 4" speakers in the rear doors for some fill due to the size of the wagon.
the rear will have a neat install keeping as much space as possible, so im going to box in over the wheel arches and right the way to the back, create a 0.8cuft box to house a 10 kicker competition dual 2ohm sub (passenger side) the drivers side will house the MTX monoblock amp to run it (i know it will be seriously underpowered at 100wrms but it will do for now)

im at 2 ends at to put 6" speakers in the factory tail gate section so it looks more stock OR mount some 6x9's just behind the rear seat and forget the 4" rear door speakers

the boot will also be re-trimmed so it all matches the new side pods.

this is basically what im going to do. maybe use the spare space as a storage box.

and a 3Dish side on type drawing.. microsoft paint FTW

that wagon has a super neat body. wish mine was that shiney hahaha. judging by the pics it appears to have the 4spd auto with econ/power switch? dont get me wrong but arent they ghia wheels? and the tailpipe looks alittle smaller than 2.5 but is also shiney so its all good haha. sounds like its guna be quite the bass chariot

i was informed it had a 2.5" exhaust, im not too worried, its not a sports car lol. my mate actually fitted a 4 speed selector surround as it looked better then the XD looking 3 speed one, but its definitely a 3 speed :( but its ok at they are strong.

the main reason i wanted it was because its soo smooth and shiney, a good polish and im hoping it comes out looking like water, but for that ill be paying for the "revengelane special" he ownes his own car detailing business and does it all by hand.

now i just need to find a headunit (anything really) and a MPFI conversion including heater pipes from water pump and airbox, the engine bay will be kept factory looking if i can keep myself from modding things lol tho will get my spare thermos thrown in

na man no wreckers.. they charge and arm, leg and your left nut up here, there is on about a hours drive south of here thats cheap, but up this way its all "we will get it for you while the lady there amputates your balls... i got EA-ED engine mount brackets from the local wrecker and they were bent as f**k and didnt even bolt up and charged me the cost of the ones with mounts... its utter bull s**t now days, ill find someone who is wrecking a EA-ED. i can do the conversion with a BBM minus the ea-el manifold loom, but the fairlane has the BBM so one car will do for that, i just want something thats pretty much mechanically stock

haha ok mr smartie pants... this is actually my 2nd wagon.. first was red with XR front lip and the 12 slotter that are now on the fairlane, again a bargain at $100

Image

the old owner couldnt get it to start... the idiot put a smartlock computer into it, took me 2 mins after i got it off the trailor to have it running

it also had a dent free body, but an over tight timing chain tensioner put an end to that motor and no one was selling a motor at that time so 4 weeks later i stripped it

damn those XD's were tough, 10 years ago before my family moved to QLD, we owned a metalic brown XD Fairmont with full power windows ESP 3 guage cluster, 351 with twin 3 inch exhaust that finished into a single 4 inch, 3 speed auto, 12 slotters (10 inch wide rears) man it was beautiful.. we didnt bring it up as we were told the motor wouldnt have lasted... i wish we kept it. used to light thewheels from 60-80kph but being leaf spring rear end like all wagons for made we got bounced around a fair bit as kids lol would explain a few things
