I've recently started purchasing parts for my Turbo I6 project.
My goals around 250rwkws on a safe tune.

The car so far goes like this.

1993 EB Fairmont Ghia Auto
- Pedders sports rider and supers all round.
- Wade 1636 cam
- Tickford Head, Fuel Reg
- TI J3 chip.
- Genies and a 2.5" exhaust

I got a Snort Stage 3 Kit on order, should be here in a couple of weeks with polished cooler piping, polished rocker cover and a walbro 255 in tank.
Tickford head with a 1.5mm head shim cause it's been shaved heaps for N/A and I cbf finding another decent head.
I got a camtech 845 billet camshaft ground with springs, retainers and locks to suit.
Just had the springs fitted so I'm going to give the head a go this weekend to get it all up and going.
Also have some thermo fans ordered.
Injectors will be getting flowed.
I'm going to get it tuned with the 2.5" till I get money for a 3", bottom end and box in the future lol.

This is my first turbo and I'm going to do it myself. Any advice would be great!

I spent a fortune on a camera not long ago so I'll keep you updated with a whole heap of sick photos!

This is the car a few weeks ago before the shocks took the front down, back will be getting ultras soon. Also some head shots cause I'm bored.

Thanks and I was just going to go with the J3, unless there's something better for a reasonable price someone can point me towards?

Yeah I thought so from what I'd read thanks.
I changed my head and cam today which I'm very happy about.
I'm going to go for a long drive and see how it goes soon.
Hope it all holds together! Can't wait to give at a trashing and see how the cam goes after I drive it in a bit.

The cams grouse, pulls hard as past 5 grand and doesn't seem to drop off.
Come even with my mates 5.7lt VT Statesman thing.. today, sad on his behalf lol.
I'm trying not to test it to much as I want to save my bottom end for boost though so that's next when my kit comes.

I also got my old Tickford head and Wade 1636 for sale if anyone's Interested.

Hi. I just got the same cam from Malcom at Camtech Cams.
It's the 845. I haven't put it i yet. I would like to ask a few question about the cam.
Did you get it at 112 lobe seperation or 114 ?
Have you got a chip in it ? & if not how does it idle without a chip.
Does it make power at 5500rpm ?

PM Replied to.
The cams grouse, idles fine and pulls very evenly with plenty of torque.
My exhaust sucks balls and I haven't tuned it so it struggles getting up around those revs. I don't want to get it that high anyway. Plenty of fun under 5 grand. With the right setup i think it'll make it comfortably.

Damn that turbo kit looks awesome 8-)
How much did it set you back? When do you reckon you will have it in the car?

It's taken a lot longer than planned and will still take a while as I ran out of money for it.

I plan on getting the cooler piping done over Christmas. Any tips on mounting it?

So pretty much just needs piping, exhaust, thermos and wiring which I'm avoiding plus some little crap.

Money would get it done in a couple of days but untill then...

For now this is where it's sitting and has been for a while :(

Looking good man. Don't stress about the time frame too much, it happens for a lot of us that the money dries up for a while, and the project just has to sit & wait. Perseverance will see it thru, all in good time!

It's a pretty clean looking ghia mighty I add!

Cheers
