What's the damage for one of those then? I know the Kazz is expensive, ie so expensive you may as well do a 9".
You have white XR8?
Actually it'll be good to try the G-tech with the BEL still in the car. Is your G-tech the one with GPS in it?

More expensive than a KAAZ! Haha. I think it was about $1500 when I bought mine 2 and a half years ago. I considered going the 9" conversion, but didn't want the added weight that comes with it.

My G-tech is a Pro RR, I think. I'm not sure about the GPS. I bought it over 3 years ago. I tested it out when I ran it down the 1/4 mile and it was within 2 tenths on 3 runs. I can't remember how far out mph was, but I'm pretty sure it was close.

Yeah, I bought a white EL XR8 - stroked, T5z gearbox, EL GT brakes and original EL GT rims - with the intention of swapping all those parts into the red car and reverting the white one to stock. One of the bores in the motor was scored really badly, the gearbox lasted less than 200km in the red car, but the brakes and rims made it on.

The white car is pretty well stock except for AU MAF, underdrives and a Quarterhorse. It's lowered as it was when I bought it and has a set of 18s I got cheap to replace the EL GTs. It's the smoothest E-series V8 I have ever driven. It'll be hard to sell once the red car's back on the road.

Yep that's the problem. I've looked into an ally carrier 9" but they say durability is questionable with high shock loads, although I imagine their talking about using slicks in a drag application. Of course the cost for the ally carrier is higher again too....it never ends

Yeah the Pro-RR is the one I would get too...it has GPS and does lateral G's aswell.
Did you ever get one of those Astro T5's or similar? I'm looking at some boxes from Rockland standard gear and G-force for the Cougar and I'm even considering a 3650 from G-force(they reckon it's 1000lbft tough!?) but I really have to be convinced of their shift quality which has always been the reason for going straight to T56 in my book.

I've got an Astro kit sitting in my garage, one at a mate's place and one lost in transit, that was lost, then found and now lost again! I've secured distributorship for Astro over here, so if you're chasing prices, let me know and see if we can save you some cash.

I'll be posting up some pics of the kit tonight in my thread in the gearbox section, hopefully.

Ok I'll check it out. I haven't got a T5 of course but I would like to change ED to manual. $1500 is a fair bit for an LSD alright!

Yeah, $1500 is, but the way I looked at it is, it cost me $700 to rebuild the LSD once, then it was due again 12 months later. I figured as I increase power and the punishment it takes, I'll probably be rebuilding them in less time. So, in under 3 years, I'd be ahead! Haha.

Very tidy looking ED there Pete.
Looking forward to seeing what you get out of it.

Thanks Matt,
I get it back from the suspension place in the morn...they rang too late for me to pick it up this arvo.
It's taken a week because the Super-Pro bushes were unavailable in WA. Apparently there aren't many E-series Falcons in WA!?!? and "overnight bag" really means over-several-nights!?

No worries.
I've given up trying to find an XR steering wheel. I think I'll buy an aftermarket wheel and make a switch plate to go behind it for the Cruise.

I like this one....

Who is doing your suspension work? What components have you gone with? I'm sure it'll look like a completely different car when you pick it up.

Malaga sproings, Bilstein shocks,Dobinson coils, superpro bushes. Yeah it looks different and handles very very well now. I Still think it's a bit high(about XR8 height I reckon) but Colin will change the springs for no charge if I'm not happy after a month.
