The Gregorys Manual has instructions on how to make a tool.

It is basically a flat piece of metal approx 20mm wide bent over at the ends.

The bent over end parts get a slot cut into them that slips over the fins on the fuel tank cap. In the centre of the tool you can make a hole and file it square to fit a 1/2 inch drive ratchet.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
BenJ

Updates: Borrowed a tool off my brother in law and got the fuel pump swapped over last week, got the tail pipe fitted on saturday put it on the hoist at my brother in laws work and while we were there welded on a 3 inch dump tip, tips abit crooked not to notice able the exhaust is very quite it only has 1 straight through muffler so i thought it would have a decent note to it but it sounds almost stock. I also got a large PWR trans cooler off lukey_1990 i have it mounted on the car so it doesnt get damaged in the garage just have to get around to hooking it up. and finally i have started prepping the rear bar for paint.

The XF: its nearly ready to take for a run i got it fired the other day just need a fitting for the manifold for the heater and brake booster. ive made some measurements for the throttle cable and choke cable, i also have to get the old welsh plugs out wich is proving to be a pain the extractors are welded to the exhaust so theres isnt a great deal off room in there.

Updates:

ED: i went to repco the other day and decided to finally get new speakers ive only been driving it for a few months with no radio  so i grabbed 2 sets of fusion speakers for $59 on sale usually $89 they seem pretty good i have the tweeters mounted in the door trims and also ran all new wiring for all the speakers to the head unit before they would keep cutting out then stopped working all together.

XF: The other day i grabbed a throttle cable and manual choke for the holley i started fitting them up today throttle cables pretty much done i just need to pull the wheel off so i can bolt the bracket to the shock tower. tomorrow ill head out and grab something to bolt to the manifold that will come out far enough for the throttle return spring because the throttle just stays open at the moment. Sunday my brother in law comes up to have a go at the welsh plugs if all goes well it should be running sunday morning and he can help me tune it.
