New wheels are on their way for the ute.
Originally wanted Simmons but cant afford the brand new and chances of finding a set 2nd hand were getting slim. As we all know, us e-series boys dont have alot of choice so i have gone with an AU-BA based wheel and will be running my hub adapters that i have sitting here. Wont give it away just yet but lets just say there is some mighty big dish on the back of these puppies. Cheers, Jeff

New rims are on and the ute is looking at its best yet IMO
They are Speedy Cheetahs and measure 19x8.5" up front and 19x9.5" in the rear. They are AU offset so i am running hub adaptors for now. Very suprisingly though the rears were able to be fitted up without hub adaptors and still had sufficient clearance all round, and sat only about 10mm further in than the Koya's did. I have plans to run just a 10mm thick spacer (spacer NOT adaptor) and use that between just the wheel and the hub and do away with the adapter all together. Fronts seem to sit out about 15mm more than the Koya's so im thinking about machining 10mm off the inside of the hub adaptor to bring it in abit. At the moment though i think the 9.5" rears with the hub adaptors fill that rear XH guard beautifully. Tyres are the new Sumitomo's from the top of their list, the HTR-ZIII's. Fronts measure up at 235/35/19 which actually sit quite well on the 8.5" rim, didnt want the std 245/35 size as i know clearance to front guard would have been pushing it, the 235/35's keep it away from the guard that little bit more. Although they were actually quite wide for a 235. The rears are 275/30/19's to stretch over the 9.5's. Such a tuff looking tyre when they are that wide. A short drive today that felt very nice, couldnt quote them on traction yet though, need to give them a good run to bed them in before i give them a beating. Anyway heres the only pic from today, will give the ute a good wash tomorrow and try get some more. Opinions good and bad are welcome!! Do you think they suit the ute?

Well you know my opinion, they look horn!
I'm interested to hear your view on the Sumitomos... Compared to your previous tyres. Ute looks good as ever, I'll be out washing mine tomorrow as well.

i dont like the idea of the spacers and adapters though. especially with the power its putting out. |

i dont like the idea of the spacers and adapters though. especially with the power its putting out. Yeah i am not a big fan of the hub adaptors at all. Rear isnt much of an issue as i will most likely ditch the spacers and run without them. Front is a bit more tricky but i can get AU offset on the front with a big brake kit available from Race Brakes Sydney.

Looks awesome, Joe has a set of 20's the same, awesome dish on the rear, if i had the coin and didnt have a blown motor i would be after a set as well

Brett Cheers Brett, 20's would be sweeet. Do the 20's on Joe's have 9.5" rear too? Heres a few pics from today. Missed the sun so its a bit dull but you get the point. Jeff

Not sure on the size, but they look awesome. Really suit your ute as well. but i am guessing tyres are not cheap. And here i am upset about the cost of 255 17's

But yeah Brett they arent cheap mate. Fronts are about $300 and rears are around $350. Really not too bad for their size. Oh and Dave, these are an awesome tyre man. SO damn comfy. For the size of the tyres they have to be the best ride yet, way better than any tyre i had on the 18's. Steering and braking feels awesome too. Very happy.
