I think you would be pretty unlucky if it didn't have adequate clearance as it is.

Also depends a liitle on wether you install the cam straight up, or if you advance/retard the timing a little.

I think you'll be fine... (but I wouldn't bet an engine on it ;) )

Its not hard to get some model clay flatten over piston, fit some old head gaskets and bolt head on and turn engine over!!!
DEAD set min clearance 0.080 ....

Cheers guys, just have to wait and see how much clearance i got during assembly.

Good news, picked up all parts today, took a couple of quick pics.

Do you think it would be worth getting the ports cleaned up abit & polished due to the CNC machining ridges left in there?

Motor is coming out this weekend, should be quite straight forward, with the help from mate at work and plenty of brews. Hopefully will be dropping it off to BPT during next week. Just need to get a couple more bits & peices like rest of gaskets, core plugs, HV oil pump etc and maybe some new bearings to spin into the bottom end. Wouldnt expect to be up and running for a month or so yet as the ute itself will probly be goin to the panel/paint shop while the motors out.
Will keep posted of build progress as we go and will let yous know of any hiccups or so throughout.

Also have a few more pics here if anyone wants pics of ports, chambers etc.
cheers Jeff

I have e7te's on the ute aswell, pretty sure only a small amount were treated to the gt40p's and unfortunately mine wasnt one of them.
Cant wait till its all up n running.

Yeah you need to hurry up n get it tuned  , should have plenty more in it.
Have you done anything with the exhaust yet?

Cool mate, any reason you went for the 3" single over the twin system?

How far away is the twEECer?

I'm so jealous of your sexy AFR 165s lol
Out of, er, interest, did you guys order them from the states, or locally?

I know clampy ordered them locally from A1 Hi Performance. They were charged with the task of getting them from the states.

a1 sourced them from a stockist over east- hpw.

went for 3" single because of cost and simplicity.. too many places were b**ch about doing twins on these cars because of the plastic fuel tank and lack of room.

i have the tweecer here, just waiting for pete to do some jazz to get it working, then after that its tune time.
