Happy New Year team..

Bought my new ride in mid December, just in time for trip to QLD
Sep 2003 build, leather, premo sound, auto.

Very clean, and stock, bar K&N panel, and the wheels which I don't like. Anyone know what they are called, and worth? I wanna get a set of Arospeed RS GT's with the gloss black centres.

Sadly my EA S pack is no more, stripped to almost nothing, cheers to all from here who pitched in and grabbed some of the quality gear it had.

Plans are:
PWR trans cooler
3.5" dump, 3.5" cat, twin 2.5" sys
Nizpro valve springs
Flash to about 10 - 12psi
Perhaps that would net me around 230 - 250kw at the treads? Sound reasonable? Anyone running those mods?

Cheers.

im fairly sure you'd see a bit more than 230rwkw with that. Flash tunes seem to really unlock the turbo engines in the falcs

Hey mate, nice car!

Im sure you wont stop at those mods. Throw in a set of injectors and a fuel pump and boost at 15 - 16psi and then be done with it.

Will be mental, silly, and rediculas all at the same time.

Should drop about and waste time looking at it.

:)

a custome tune alone will get you over 250rwkw

add injectors, pump, cat, cooler to your list and youll have well over 300rwkw

Yep.. that's me I guess, being modest haha. Thanks for the comments guys, was hard work saving up.

Spoke to some guys at work, as I was asking where in ACT they go for XR6T mods. 1 dude with a BA II 6spd manual went to Gentech and just got K&N and tune only, nothing else. He netted 233rwkw with the 'performance' 8psi tune. He was supplied the SCT controller with 4 tunes as you know they give you a few on the flasher unit.

I guess I'll see what full exhaust, springs, injectors, tune will net. Everyone who replied at work raved about the service and results from Gentech.. Gotta save some coin, fk it's hard.

Other than those mods, I really want a set of RS GT's with gloss black centres, they go under Ozzy's name and a few others.. Maybe a set of KING low's (prolly not Super Lows), and a DJR bobtail spoiler.

Took the mudflaps off.. only area where paint needs a little touch up due to the rubbing / wearing of the flap against the body is on the front pass side. Will give a light spray of Winter White then cut and polish it.

As I got it...

Have decided I want to sort the suspension, as per my EA project it's the best place to start. You want it to handle before going quick. I want run SL's all round, I did this on the EA and it sat sweet, I know many are going SSL's on the rear, but I won't bother. My EA sat level with SL's even tho it didn't with stock coils. I'm changing the shocks and coils to control the amount of weight being thrown forward when braking..

There is a bit of roll I don't want, so I also want to muck around with the sway bars. Anyone running 27mm or bigger on the front, 20, 22mm on the rear? I may not need this on the car after lowering, but have to ask for feedback!

What shocks have people run with the SL's? I don't know why, but just don't seem inspired to use Monroes. I had BOGE short shocks in the EA and would like to know what shortened shocks people are using?

Cheers..

Got my Transco transmission cooler fitted the other week. Also got the shop to fit a used ASE intercooler while the bar was off. The ASE unit is twice as thick and tall, plus the end tanks are very nice and smooth in their shape. It really flows.

Stock units are made by FPV by the looks of it. About 180mm tall, whilst the ASE unit is 300mm, and 76mm thick.

No tune yet, however I did get them to do before and after power runs. It is much nicer to drive, it's breathing so much better on the intake side of things - throttle response has improved nicely and is very noticeable. I don't have mash the loud pedal to get going as much.

Whilst peak power is only 14rwkw up, notice the boost coming on earlier, and rwkw @ 2440rpm :D

A worthy mod IMHO. Most will suggest not necessary straight up, and this maybe true, however it is much nicer to drive with a better unit. Not sure how far I will go, as it's my daily driver.. still keen to replace these wheels. Will see what happens..

Little update, fitted short body Durashocks and KING Springs 57's and 68SSL's this week. Swaybars should be here tomorrow.. Ride is awesome.

Also got some MKII wheels in pretty nice nic late last year. This is how she looks today.

Soooo much better!

Braided turbo oil line get's here tomorrow also, and valve springs going in soon, and a Walbro. Then in a couple of months, injectors (maybe cat) and tune. What's a better fit for the fuel pickup bit of the pump? GSS-340? or GSS-342? I can't remember what I put in my EA.. the 342 I think...

Power: 240 kW (322 hp) @ 5250 rpm
Torque: 450 N·m (332 lb·ft) @ 2000-4500 rpm

Yeah, and it's peaked a little before that as well.. I reckon that considering she's spinning the rollers, peak power on the chart / street is tapering off as the torque has already started dropping off 500-750rpm prior.

Fitted my new swaybars. Got these cheap in a group buy. Whiteline models, 27mm front, 22mm rear. Easy as to fit, 20min tops each end.

All I can say is wow, I've lowered the car and fitted swaybars this week, suspension is done now for this car and it really handles nice, responsive, and turns really tight. It really hugs the road with the increased grip.

Braided turbo oil line has arrived, just gotta save a bit and get this fitted with harder valve springs. Then injectors and tune after that.

Bit of steady progress, and goals are getting clearer..

Being a BA MKI, I had to do valve springs. Did some research and got these fitted.

As my car is nearing 150k's I read that this filter needs to be p****d off. It never gets serviced, and is a real pain to get to. It lives in the oil sender, and filters the oil going in the banyo fitting to the oil feed for the turbo. It clogs really easy, and I noticed during initial spool oil wasn't getting to the turbo. Not a problem anymore, it's quiet and smooth.

I clayed my car about 6 weeks ago, then a few weeks ago I polished it with some old Kitten No.1 and then waxed it with some old Turtle wax. Used a 10" orbital polish with terry towel pad, and then lambswool for the wax. Very happy with the result.

Car also got dyno'd, and is making a healthy 197.5rwkw. Just need modified injectors, xcal and tune. Hope for 260 - 270rwkw.
