Hey, what do you guys think of these badges? Trying to decide where to put em. Personally i'm a fan of the V8 directly under the LTD. But not sure if that looks too "busy".

Hmmmmm... How about down the sideskirts (when you find some to fit) like where the BA has its XR6 badge?! The LTD one looks cool, but would need to be centred with the orange light wouldn't it?!
Uh... How about sideskirts or bottom of rear doors?! Hell... I don't know........ |

all wagon sideskirts will fit, the AU/BA/BF wagon and fairlane sideskirts will fit with a little 5 cent piece size cut to fit snug around the wheel arch

Yes i would love some side skirts but i don't think i could apply for an extension to my student loan for them lol.
On the plus side, my driveshaft has been shortened. $100 not bad hey. They guy that did it was bloody worried about how strong these alloy shafts are, he said they are very thin. Now do i REALLY need to get it balanced? He only had to take 2.5cm off, will it make much difference? And also how much oil do the T5's take????

You should be okay - Came out of an AU LTD or something didn't it? How fast do you want to go? If somewhere there balances them, it would be nice cheap peace of mind. 2 litres. |

Of course it NEEDS to be balanced.
There is no way I would be putting in a modified tailshaft in my car without new uni joints and getting it balanced. Just think about how fast that shaft rotates. I had a small weight fall off a tailshaft, and I could feel the vibration. Your tailshaft has had a piece cut out of it and been welded back together. BALANCE IT!! BenJ

Ok ok ok lol i get the Gist. Balance it is. I'll take her in hopefully tomorrow to get balanced. These AU shafts don't feel as sturdy as the good old E series ones. It's quite a bit lighter than my DC one. Maybe i should have had that one shortened instead. Ah for 100 bucks i can always get the DC one done in the future!

Woohoo!! everything is pretty much bolted up, just have to tighten the bellhousing bolts and time the engine and were ready for action. Got my shaft back from balancing today, was perfectly balanced however the guy said it has a harmonic vibe at 1800rpm, nothing before, nothing after, bang on 1800. And it was perfectly balanced. Weird, he used to balance them for Ford and said that sometimes they used to balance them IN the car, so it could dissappear once it's in. He did say if it's too much of a problem, bring it back and he will suss it for free. Good bloke this guy, Otago Balancing specialists if interested.
Tried to find some Transmax Z oil for the tranny, ha, for some reason, Castrol NZ a) Don't do orders, b) Transmax Z is only available in 20l drums. And i'm not that rich, nor do i need 20l. This is coming from castrol head office, the guy in super cheap rung them for me. Sooo, for $60 i got 2l of the finest pure synthetic gold castrol have to offer, bought it from a contact at Repco. Pick up tomorrow. Sweet. Hopefully go for a warrant next week! then wash n wax and photoshoot (by me, not professionally lol)
