All your bits will fit on, but to get the most out of it you would also need a 65mm TB and 70mm MAF. $450 is about right, sometimes you can get them with the TB for about 400-500. Haven't seen many in a while to be honest.

Slowly mate. As funds dribble in, I buy parts. Plus my computer commited suicide a couple of weeks ago which is a right PITA.

Engine is going in to the shop in the next week/2 weeks to have the bearings and rings done, plus the cam degreed. Once it's back we can bolt the rest on.

I've only got the balancer and under drive pulleys left to buy. I'm buying new pulleys to suit the new water pump, so if you know of anyone that is chasing some E series under drive's, let me know.

Sorry mate, sold the pulleys a week before you asked.

Good news, I fixed my computer so now I can fully access FM and all my other stuff.

Engine is currently in at the machine shop, I decided to get it hot tanked, honed, all bearings replaced and cam installed/dialed-in.

When I pulled the heads off the piston tops and valves were covered in carbon, was obviously running far too rich.

Bores were mint and hone marks were still very visible. The engine shop said the block was in excellent condition, the bearings were just starting to show some wear.

I've removed all the sound deadener from the fire wall as it was falling to bits and I also want to hear the new engine when it's in!

I've still got to work out where to mount the HI-6 unit, and mount the fuel pump. Fuel pump is not quite a direct fit, I'm going to have to make up a spacer to go between the hanger and the pump body to keep it in place as it's quite a bit smaller than factory.

Engine is back from the shop, for $1070 It got hot tanked, all new bearings, freeze plugs installed, honed, rings, cam installed/degree, oil pump cleaned/checked and a full coat of paint.

Also picked up some stainless cap screws for the timing cover/water pump for $35 from Hylton Parker Fasteners, much better than $us120 for ARP stainless. Only down side is I will have to trim them to suit as they only came in whole sizes.

Bearings on the engine were pretty buggered, had 194,000k on the clock.

Got a fancy new gauge pod being made up for the centre console, should have that back from my trimmer tomorrow. It's the plastic cup/tray from the front of the centre console, with angled foam and covered in black leather, fit's three gauges. Will post up a pic once It returns.

Only thing left to do now is:
Wire up HI-6
Wire up gauges
Put engine back in
Buy some silicone joiners/stainless pipe for the intake.
