So.... i just jumped on the scooter (not electric or petrol** ) and went down the the car,

Same symptoms as before most things work first click of the key turn but turn key more and got nothing. I disconnected the battery and hooked it up again tightened it. Looked wiring under dash (dunno what i was looking for) wiggled a few things kicked the dash turned the key more and more..

THEM BAM IT TURNS OVER BUT WONT FIRE! lol at me putting kill switch on.....

Flicks switch in secret location  and hopes it wants to start again... it did.

So i drove it home hoping it would make it up the hill and it did.

I got some brand new terminals as the positive cracked when i took it off.

Im going to clean up the battery terminals and fit the new clamps and see what it wants to do.

Id rather not waste a $100 battery if this one wants to work some more.

Solvered the water hose leak with a home made "bung" from scrap rubber.

Not totally happy with the T5 its noisy and clucks in reverse so i might need to just get the fu cker rebuilt...... or looked at.

I need a rubber pad for the manual style brake pad got the clutch one. He said its not critical for the RWC but would be nice haha. Ill bung on a random one with zip ties.

Where can i get some welsh plugs as 3 are truly rooted with 1 even leaking precious coolant. Will go to ford if i really have too.

Cheers

your local Bursons etc.

Bursons, Repco & so on will sell the welsh plugs you need.

Your latest electrical drama sounds like it might be related to the BEM or smartlock modules, if it wasn't just a loose wire under the dash.....

Cheers

I would, but the appearance hasn't changed one bit.

It's the same as in most of the pictures except like the K&N sticker it gone lol.

I didn't get my hopes up but i just went for a drive and in the exactly the same spot up the hill when i went to change into 3rd it died.

Dad gave me a tow back home, i Felt underneath and it feels like the back part has come away from the BEM but its still plugged in. Ill grab another BEM or 2 from the wreckers, thou i won't be able to get there monday as i finish to late on fri and there never open weekends.

What are these smartlock modules you speak of................

Just did a topic search found this

ford-interior-f14/ed-smartlock-not-starting-t87504.html

So what is the red box above the hand brake?? the BEM or the Smartlock module

Red is smartlock in EB2 & ED falcons. The other module, that slides in beside the radio/cd player is the BEM, there are a few different colors depending on the options your car has. My fairmont ghia is green, that's EB2 with smartlock. I have a eb1 fairmont non smartlock that is white, and there are other colors as well....

Cheers

Yer the ED GLi is a Red Unit with a black box next to it.

But the EB ghia has just a green box... but its in the "slides in beside the radio/cd player" position.

Any ways won't be able to get to an open wreckers till monday arvo.

I could swap sways bars if the car was up the side of the house but its on the street out front

The ED GLI - Red unit is smartlock & black is the BEM

The EB Ghia - green box is the BEM. What series EB is it, 1 or 2? If it's series 1, it shouldn't have smartlock unless someone has modified the vehicle. Most but not all series 2 EB's got smartlock, only the earliest series 2 didn't get it.

Cheers

throw in a non smartlock ECU and see if it fixed the issue, as if smartlock says "car stop" then the ECU goes "WTF is smartlock???!!??" and keeps running

The EB is july 92 i think it had the 1DCC in it
91DA 12A650CC - EB 4.0L MPEFI Auto, Sedan (3.27 Axil)

Ill try this ECU 0DDB - 90DA 12A650DB - EAII 3.9L CPEFI 4spd Auto.

EA ECU did nothing...

The fuel pump isn't even coming on. Is this what the smartlock does just say's theres a problem and cuts power to things.

I only have a EA - EB1 gregories so its got nothing about smartlock

Smartlock was introduced in Sept 92, so you won't have the smartlock module.

Cheers

I don't think the CPEFI ECU will do anything in a MPEFI car.

Cheers
