Its got more timing in it lower in the rev range now and it picks up alot better, still have the ebc to rehook up and test.

Booking car in at the trans shop next week to see whats up with the overheating during long drives on hot days etc.

Hmm seems pretty quick there dude..... nice!

Greg the moates gear DOES run 1dga bin on a 1dec i know because ive tried it, ran it for a week then i switched back (for some reason i thought xr8 ecu's had better things in them, they dont).

That's really odd. With the Quarterhorse and Binary Editor, I've read the bin from a 1DGA, using a 2DCA strategy and I got no sense out of it at all. I did a read of the 1DEC with the same strategy and all the info comes up sweet. I wonder how you're able to make the 2 work together? At the end of the day, though, it looks like you're getting on top of it and getting your tune dialled in. Good work.

Sam, on a stock motor, by leaning it out to around 12.9:1 and bumping timing up a few degrees, I'd expect to see an increase exceeding 12hp.

WB02 bung getts fitted tomorrow and trans gets serviced the day after, currently discussing what to do with the rebuild.

400rwhp is my limit for a daily driven streeter so the trans and motor have to handle that, diff should be fine if im not constantly doing burnouts.

Depending on how the stock block goes i may consider a dart block purely for reliability reasons (if i manage to break 2 stock blocks that is) but aprt from that my car will be daily driven and visit wsid for some time slip.

Love the build mate, i've been reading it over the past few nights.. :D

I'm attempting to do a similar setup with my EF 5l, just doing the exhaust now... = effort! lol.
Just wondering if you'd know how 24lb injectors would go with an AU maf housing, tuned with a J3?? or should i go straight for bigger injectors? (already have 24lb'ers)...

Hi mate, if you want serious power id forget the 24lb injectors an au maf.

Either a 90mm Lmaf or a proM maf (caled for 42lb injectors) along with 42lb injectors is idealy what you want, trust me i wish i had the J3 right off the bat because all the pissing around with fmu's and killing fuel pumps just wasted my time and money.

WB02 wiring is nearly complete and should be running tomorrow, need to install new walbro with another non raped fuel sender unit so A i can get a 100% true reading from the tank and B ill be able to mount the walbro to pick up all the fuel.

Could see this car down @ WSID next week.

Yeah thats what i was thinking, i dunno how much power im after yet just going to see how it goes. I'd rather not run an fmu too, seems like more un-needed hassle.

Keen to see how it goes at the drags! :) what are you hoping for?

Its better to have a power level you want to reach so you have an aim, for me considering ive never been to the drags cracking a 13.99 is my goal tho it should run mid 13's.

Auto has been serviced and a new inhibitor switch fitted( shifts perfectly and drives smooth, can now hand shift manually) seeing as i came home through traffic i havnt given it much yet but so far box feels good..

Still havnt finished wb install or ebc controller so thats getting done soon think i need a break from this heat.

Not for awhile mate, just got out of hospital after getting my appendix removed ive been there all week waiting to get worked on (long story).

Took the car out to mum n dads yesterday coz i missed driving it so much and under a quarter of a tank the fuel pump has problems supplying fuel so i got to fix it asap, looks like i wont be driving it for awhile anyway as its too painful to sit in that position + very dangerous driving after the op as it could cause damage.

Yeah thanks sbr401 and your silver T is a weapon mate.

A little update..

Fuel pump finally in and running properly, lc-1 is in, ef door trims are in and car is regoed for another year.

Checking afr's on 10psi im sitting at 11.4:1 and no pinging since getting this new pump in, its scary to see how lean it gets during spool up and then go rich when on the desired boost setting.

Its been a long learning curve tuning my car and the turning point in the project was exactly that, without out the help from sam12h the car would have been stuck killing fuel pumps from the FMU's inconsistencies and having massively retarded base timing hurting power...

I cant thank sam enough for getting me onto the moates gear and showing me what he could do on his eb v8 tow car, and again even bigger thanks for lending his race car's j3 to me so i had a proper fully functioning tune.

So im at a point with the car were im happy with its performance and ecconomy and hopefully soon i can get it down wsid to finally get a time.

Trying to decide on how much more boost id like to run, had an afternoon full of over boosting and ive been trying to work out wtf was going on.

Turns out the vac line to the wastegate had slipped off and my boost controller had saved 15psi as the highest stable amount and the wideband showed 12.7 afr's, think i might be maxing my 76mm maf there so im interested to get stuck in and hit the tune up.

And yes the car felt very quick.
