to my understanding from what the book says the cruise control loom needs the 2 black wires to be jumped... can any1 confirm??

Hey when you say dash garnish do you mean the piece above the glovebox?
Because with the pass airbag, theres 2 options on xr's, futura's, gli's they had a different glovebox lid, on fairmonts, ghias they didn't have one. Damn now I'm tempted to go get the pass airbag setup i saw for cheap hmm, have you considered some sort of illumination setup like out of the glovebox.

as for the garnish i mean the 1 between the windscreen and dash where tweeters are located |

Hey mate, my horn wiring is as follows
On the EF loom, there is 2 plugs down the bottom of the steering column, and a loom plugs in one of them for the airbag (which i don't have) and the other is for the loom for the horn buttons and cruise buttons on the EF wheel, (also don't have) On the plug with more wires, there is a blue wire, the wire from my horn button, goes to a red wire from the combonation stalk, and then taps into this blue wire, then that plug simply plugs into the cruise switches.

yes you do need to join the 2 black wires on the cruise control plug in the engine bay - do that and the horn will work

Excellent Work there champ! 4 pages in less than a week, I had to have a read and to say I am impressed would be an understatement

so i got a diff out of an el wagon on the weekend yaya!!
today i rang around and found a mob that will put my 3.9's in it forme... my question is what speedo gear will i need ive tried the easy calculator but for some1 as simple as me it isnt so easy and where can i get 1 in melb within the next week??? |

As far as I know there is not a gear to drop in and correct the speedo for 3.9s.
You may need to get a speedo corrector. BenJ
