while you can, you should get an ef xr front bumper and an nf fairlane bumper with the cornering lamps and associated wiring and chop the top half of the xr bumper off, then do the same to the fairlane bumper then join the XR top to the Fairlane Bottom. then you will have one personalised car

Nah, too hard! 8-)

I was thinking about an EL or Fairy/LTD front, but I got the EF stuff cheap, so that will do for now.

Along those lines, I was thinking about an EL front on my XH. the lights and bumper will bolt straight on, but the bonnet would be a big job to cut and shut together. One day maybe, when I win lotto. 8-)

Quick update.

Engine bay is being painted today, then the battery tray will be painted and fitted. Next time I get out to work on it, I should be able to start re-assembling the engine bay and get it ready to start and drive. 8-)

It will be so cool to have it driveable, then I can concentrate on the panels.

I also found out today it is LeMans Red, not Cardinal Red, like I was told by someone-who-knows-everything. :?

I will get some pics next weekend.

Yeah, thanks mate, it's finally coming together. Getting to the stage where I will have to spend some $$$ soon. Just got to find some first. Anyone got a good money tree I can maybe get a cutting off?

I haven't done a thread on my ute, never really thought about it. I suppose I should, as it has had a fair bit done to it. Something to do on a rainy day maybe....

I do have a few pics of the ute in my gallery if your interested.

Cheers, 8-) 8-)

IT’S PAINTED!!!! YAY!
As promised, here are some more pics, now that the repairs are all painted. Looks great, & I can definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel now. Looks like it was never damaged.

The bonnet and guards are only trial fitted for now, but it is good to see it as a semi-complete car again.

It's almost done, just the battery tray to go. 8-)

...so the only thing left to do in the engine bay is to paint and fit the battery tray and the lower headlight bracket. I scabbed these parts out of an EB2 V8 wagon wreck in the back paddock. And I thought I had finished drilling out spot welds!
These bits will be fitted and painted in the next two weeks, so on the long weekend I will be refitting everything into the engine bay and (hopefully) fire the thing up. 8-)

Update:
After a few months of not giving the wagon any attention, we have made a big step in getting it even closer to finished. Last night I bought a complete EL wagon off EvilBay. It will donate it's front panels to the EF, so I will have a red EL wagon, as far as it looks. 8-) Plus I get all the little odds and ends I will need to re-assemble it, as well as a few parts I need for the spare XH ute, and a complete running EL motor and auto. Might even pirate the BBM for my ute. 8-)

I will pick it up today, more pics to follow soon.

There's been a lot of effort put into this car, nice work! Is it not worth fixing up the EL instead or is the EF much better? Looking forward it see it finished...
Thanks
