Yeah its been a bit of a f**k and hopefully it is coming to an end! Have had a good bunch of mates coming up with ideas and bits to try and a very understanding missus has made it a lot easier. It was never going to be easy trying to make a boat into a racecar. Hopefully it will be all worthwhile in the long end!

It should be good to see what it drops off on the quarter and what it makes at the tyres when you get it tuned...if it didnt pick up 40-50rwhp there would be somethink wrong i reckon..

I am hoping so too Phill. I think it will be pointless to put it on the dyno or run it at the strip until its tuned. It would be a big dissapointment.

Just come back from taking it for a run up the mountains to my olds. Leaving there it didnt want to fire straight away...................................... hopefully its in the tune. Got it running quickly enough so if its like that until tuned I will be happy.
I need to work out the full throttle. The box isnt holding gears as long as it should. I was trying to work out why and it was actually Donna that pointed the issue out to me. "Hey if your not getting full throttle that switch thing on the top for the gearbox wont know you are flogging it and being a d***head will it?" Cant argue with that. So something to look at tomorrow. I reckon once tuned I will be happy. Its not going well enough for me to be happy at the moment but it is going a f**k load better then it was the other day!

Good progress. It is starting to come alive at last. I found to get full throttle travel, easiest way was to place a big nut or two infront of the throttle mount to space it out. Worked a treat for years for me.

Yeah I have spaced mine out with washers but the issue Im having now is the arc the throtle sweeps at. I am getting full cable travel backwards , but the throttle arm isnt swinging around enough to get full throttle.
Im thinking if I move the mount about 10mm over on the EGR plate it should be sweet. Its too wet and s**t to pull it apart today while it is actually running. Was a total t*** to get running this morning.  Hopefully its the tune now.

Matt, I dunno if this was replied to but you were saying when you know tha car is stone cold the diagnostics still say 30 degrees. I checked mine, 1st thing today and it reads min temp as 30 degrees.
dunno if that answers anything for you, but my sensor is pretty much new. save your money for something else.

Thanks Dave. Yeah I got the same result in Donnas XR8 , but its good to get it from a 3rd source so I know I dont have 2 cars with issues..............HAHA Its bad enough I have to now change the XR thermostat as I realised when driving it on diagnostics mode that some t*** has fitted a 96 degree thermostat to it................
 dunno why.The missing full throttle has been located and removed from its hiding spot and been put to use. I had to redrill the TB and move the location of the pivit ball closer to the shaft to reduce the amount of sweep required to achieve full throttle. It now holds gears and is going somewhat better. Couldnt really give it a good work out as traction seems to have gone missing now its wet............. It is running pretty fat and has a bit of a pop through the exhaust on cruise so its either the timing has retarded itself a bit or it is unburnt fuel in the pipes due to running 24LBers on a 19LB tune. Im thinking it will be the later. I reckon its Moates time now.

How is the low end torque, did some of it come back with the bigger TB. I know with mine with real low compression it was a pig down low.

The low end isnt great. I think a bit come back but not a huge amount.
The extra we picked up by the change in TB I think we have lost by the now overfuelling. To be expected. I really dont think there is much I can do extra now until I get the $$$'s together for the J3 chip and then take it from there.

Really dumb question but I shall ask anyway.
Does anyone think it would be possible for the shift kit to interfear with the ECU and cause it to play funny buggers? I dont think so as they are seperate on the V8 but after whats has happened Im wondering. I turned it off today as it was getting a bit annoying constantly catching the a*** end on gear changes in the wet. Didnt think much of it then took it up to get a feed of dirty bird tonight and the car was a totally different beast to drive. It seemed to be much more responsive , went heaps harder , would kick back a gear and get a awesome smooth power delivery happening. All in all it was great. Seems bizarre that it could happen but something is different with it.

The settings may be a little high for it. Is the shift kit the adjustable type, if so then wind it back till it seems right. Happy with the result, even if it seems bizare.
