Man those black leather seats look mint!! I wish e-series came out with black leather interior from factory, it looks hot 8-)

I reckon the EL Fairmont grill suits well, the chrome goes well with the cornering lights and the matches the paint colour well. Hows the LTD grill look on the Fairmont?

Cheers, I've been wanting to go black leather interior sorta like the gt, for a while, but not sure about this seat issue, whether it's been a messed up retrim or just the bases are different between el ef etc, I know they got the second lumbar adjusters, so maybe they tinkered with the base height aswell, anybody able to confirm my hopes.
and to think those seats have been in the drink, can't believe how well they're coming up so far.

haven't tried the grill yet, think I might try all 3 grills on the weekend take a few photos, maybe even tinker with a a custom ef using my spare one, just one of those things, but I got to say if I can get couple hundred for it I might just sell it, put it towards a few other things, anybody want to trade for an el gt wheel? hehe .
Guess it also depends how i Go with my custom bar idea, now I've got one to cut up.

Yeah out at wacol, got there late one arvo, when I realised the stretch was there decided I'd hang round start undoing a few things and came back just before they opened with my mate next morning and his diesel hilux duel cab ended up filling the back of the cab and had a couple things on the tray.
The to do list just never seems to get shorter does it?
Yeah I don't know never seem to have anything of interest at that browns plains wreckers, other than I think they had a set of 15" dragway for 500 last i was there. but not enough interest for me.

Ahwell gonna have to stop spending money if I get this townhouse,
... eventually...

Interesting, maybe one day, but not at the moment though, pitty to pay for cleaning then pick up some wheels in it a week after and have them all over the seats etc..
Yeah think I might've, living out that way wouldn't surprise me, always someone that knows you, haha.

Redid the rear doorcards today black leather insert with the grey velour card, grey padded armrest, and NL woodgrain trim.
I've got the black leather door cards and the grey leather doorcards aswell, but just not sure, the black ones are a little dodgy eg paint scratched though at places etc., and the grey leather ones just make me think to gli spec.
So trying to find a compromise, decisions, decisions.
Any thoughs?

Also anybody that could potentially test a Fairlane cluster suck to rewire the dash to find it doesn't work or something, or even just need to rechip the cluster, especially if i then f**k it up.
be willing to trade some parts etc. for the service.

nice job with the door trims, they look mint

i reckon with your the the EL grille looks the best, the stock EF grille a close 2nd. The LTD grille looks flash, but they kind of look funny from a distance and are not my cup of tea....... but all comes down to personal preference in the end !!!

Interesting I'll keep that in mind, although, I prefer to do most things myself, I know you say mechanical but does he know aything about spraying, tinting etc.?

Cheers Chaddy

Yeah ahwell ended up picking up a spare el grill to play with, and tried the LTD grill doesn't look to bad with the ghia badge, but if I can get that sort of money for it I think I'd be happy with 150 odd cash.
and as you said, bit to flash for this ef that's for sure.
Image

Thanks, now just for the fronts, but am having quite a hard decision.

I want to use nl ghia to trims, as passenger doesn't have one of those annoying lock things.
but it also has a ghia badge just near where my tweeters are.
Image

Now I think I can squeeze my tweeter in next to it, but I'm thinking with the woodgrain trim, and the tweeter, I might look a bit to cluttered, and I don't mind the minimalist on badging either.

What do people think? ghia or no ghia on trims.

Id say go without the ghia badge :). The tweeter looks sweet on the other door trim in that position, and with the tweeter and the badge aswell as the woodgrain it kind of would look cluttered like you said. Gave me idea of where to put my tweeters now

LTD grill looks good on there i reckon, goes well with the colour and cornering lights. What was the ghia bonnet badge off? Was it a BA Ghia? Im after one of those for my EF :P

Yeah think ba Fairlane ghia I think you can still get them from ford, I got mine off a mate who had a white el xr, didn't really suit it, basically gave him a couple of small things, for a couple small things sorta deal.

Hey sold the LTD grill for 230 8-) anyway so the el grills gone back on for now.

Got the doortrims done by the way
Image
Back seats still are only just sitting in as I still need to switch the brackets over to SWB brackets, anybody got suggestions on how to do this?
Also got to to do the bolster but I'll get the rest in first.
As you can see also half still needs cleaning, but considering the fronts were a hell of a lot worse, they should come up brilliant other than the base, that has fat leg syndrome.
