The bases can be repaired.
Every EF ad EL breaks the seat base.
Unclip the material around the edges and put your hand between the base and the cushion and remove the nuts. Then put a large mudguard washer over where it is broken out and out the nut back on and bolt up.
Its how my trimmer does them and he has never had an issue.

I'm not sure what brand mine are in the xr6.
But on eBay I brought genuine phillips 6000k hid's. For $160.
I was installing them in my Ef. But I kept turning them on an off Testing them and blew the ballasts :( .I learnt the hard way DO NOT turn hid's on and off let the ballast charge up when it's fully charged u can turn it off wait 10 mins then turn it on. I got a refund I said they were faulty, they wouldn't of worked well in a Ef cos is doesn't have the projector.

Definatly a good buy they don't get hot and as long as u don't turn them off and on u will be fine , will last forever. and they make Ur car look like it's a BMW a nite lol
8-)

Whom ya go to, might be a good time to get the base done and the foam renewed and get the rear seat sorted as well, which seems to have a spring trying to poke through

That sucks to read about the sloppy repair job, I hope you tear them a new corn shoot with getting it all sorted. Make sure it's going somewhere else to get the job done, not back to the same place!

Cheers

I hope for their sake as well as yours they do the job properly! They won't want to be loosing money on this job, by not doing it correctly twice & then having to pay another mob to fix the issue.

Cheers

Better luck with the next repair!

I can't believe the dodgy s**t I've seen come out of crash shops. Makes my blood boil, they charge top dollar for monkeys to butcher your car.

We had the bars redone on our AU XR. Went to pick up the car, and the paint on the rear bar is massively bubbled around the rear wheel, on both sides. Looked like they coated it in gravel, then sprayed over it. The bloke said "If you aren't happy, we can re-do it."

Left me wondering how the f**k it got out of the workshop like that in the first place?

If you are going to charge like a wounded bull, then pay the apprentice $5 an hour to do it, at least have somebody f**k check it!

Eventually got it back in one piece looking good, but f**k me...

Months later I found a few of the screws missing from the front stone guard, and some overspray on an indicator....

I've rarely seen cars come back better than they went it. They always manage to f**k up, lose bits, then break s**t completely unrelated to what they are meant to be fixing.

Seriously one of the dodgiest industries.... :x

I feel better now :D

Pic 2 was clearly done by a 2 year old who was told by his uncle at the family BBQ that some stickers needed to go on a car, in the order of the red one on top of the white one. He was then left to his own devices to put them back on. Same child also "focused" your headlights as well I think.

Here is how the badge layout is on the missus EL XR8.
Image

I honestly cant see the placement being any different just because one is a 6 and the other an 8.
Hope this helps.
