and i hate to say gros20 but you are wrong the first xr ute was the xg which was round the same era as the eb,ed then came the xh (ef/el series) version of ute the the au and so on. matt j if you can find an xh xr6 ute for round the $6k mark you are doin very well and BUY it espically a manual one as they still go for round $10k and up as they are alot rarer then the au ,ba ones the only one you might get and be pusshin it is an xg xr6but there again lies the art in finding one good luck on your quest for the ultimate in xr utes the xh and go for an 8 alot more fun than the 6

i have included pics of both xg and xh xr ute

Yeah for a decent XH XR6 manual ute, you would be lookin around 10-15k, otherwise your gonna get a thrashed out pile o s**t. other option is get an XH ute and buy the kit and do the mods urself. Try send a PM to XH4LTRWPN, he had an XH ute he did up and although a auto it shat on the xr6's. now hes go a genuine 99 XH XR8 though.

but for 6k, look at gettin an old painters ute and doin some mods.

I think it was the XH1 that came out with the EF style XR front end and the XH2 came out with the EL stylre XR front end.

spot on fordman351, xh1 is ef, xh2 is el. Now, for all the mo'fo's out there that might wana bone you with a mock up, the xh xr's came out with the broadband manifold, while the standard ute and s pax came out with the ed style manifold on both xh1 & 2.

My brother has a xr6 manual ute, done 120,000, he's a mechanic so the car is looked after and it bloody flies!!!! Eats non worked v8's and most auto v8's all the way upto AU3 and VX for brekky!! (it's the manual that makes it go!)

Sorry mate, he aint selling... Gregg_13 is on the money, 10-15 at least, maybe less if you want a thrashed piece of s**t!
