Hey,
just need a el fairmont electric side mirror, complete , doesnt matter what colour as long as its in decent condition and the motors work fine.

See any wrecking yard. The EF ones are black. Think you can get new aftermarket ones for around $100.

well i need a el one not a ef one, its for my mums fairmont.. some d***head in a landcruiser smashed it off the other day and im trying to get her another one for cheap. she was quoted 150 n doesnt want to pay that. im getting it resprayed for free...thats why i said it doesnt matter what colour...aslong as its el fairmont.

EF and EL are the same mirror mate, no difference at all... that i'm aware of anyway.

aren't el anf ef mirrors the same?
either way i wouldn't pay more than 80 bucks for a new aftermarket one. ring around the wreckers.

well theres one on ebay for ef-el but its black... n u rekn there the same?
would i need to find fairmont or just eny as long as its electric

The only difference between EF and EL mirrors is that EL are colour coded.

Outwardly the mirrors are virtually the same between the 2 models and are interchangeable as a unit - EF didn't have the convex (objects may appear closer..) mirror glass in the passenger side. EF & EL GLIs were not color coded.
There are internal differances between models and the head from a later mirror will not fit an earlier base (& vice-versa). Mirror glass is interchangable however.

Sorry I didn't see your reply.
No - any mirror will do if you replace it as a unit (which is how they are sold - new or s/h). If you want one the same color you will need to ring around the wreckers as new ones are only sold in black and require painting.
