Bump

Still after one of these - none of the local wreckers can help, aftermarket all want $250+ fitted, surely there is someone around with one in Sydney that would be happy for $75

Few on ebay, typical, all in melbourne.

Never ceases to amaze me how populated Sydney is over Melbourne but there seems to be tonnes more on ebay in Melbourne than Sydney.

Bumpity Bumpity Bump

I got mine from Repco Autoparts, mainly because my work has an account there. It bolted up to the existing holes in the body. Didn't even have to take the bumper off!!

I've come across a 1600kg genuine Ford towbar to suit a BA wagon for $150. Will this suit the AU1 wagon? I know they are similar in many ways and sure look the same from the back.....

I think $150 is a bit much for a used 1600kg towbar isn't it??

Dunno if they are the same. $150 seems a bit rich for second hand to me. I think mine was made by Allin Towbars in Adelaide.

I've been told an EB wagon towbar will fit.

Can anyone confirm or deny that this is a standard existing hole bolt up job, or know of any other (EL/EF/BA) wagon towbars tht do?

Ta lots

i would deny that an EB one would fit an AU, but i would almost be 98% sure that a BA one is the same

Hey leroy,

I thought the EB was a bit strange. But like you assume the BA is the same. Might be wrong but have no definate answers (from anyone who sound like they actually know!), my local motor wrecker didn't ring me back when he was seeing what he had in stock, and everyone wants over $250 for new ones, and I am sure I should be able to do better......maybe one will pop up.....

Thanks mate

I can now 100% confirm that the BA wagon towbar is the same as the AU towbar. Hope this helps you in your search

Ok, had no luck tracking one down, could have waited forever so decided to go for a new one, installed at my house.

Nice bloke, great service (7.30pm my place, was done same day I rang him), quick neat job. Cosmopolitan towbar, with wiring and ball installed for $220. Hayman Reece would have been $265. This is cheaper than the closest towbar place PLUS it was done at my house.

So if anyone in Sydney needs a good job done by a great bloke, I'd like to give him a plug (I think good people are worthy, they are hard to find) - his name is Paul and his mobile is 0412092962.

Thanks. I can tow my boat when I eventually find one I want to buy now......
