You can get a mid 80s 60 series cruiser for that, tough as nails, petrol or diesel? if your not driving thousands of kays each year, petrol is fine, but dont expect car fuel economy, diesel is more expensive, fuel economy isnt real flash either, parts are cheap, and everywhere, even servos in the middle of the bush, have parts for cruisers, other makes, terrano etc, wont be catered for, i have a 83 FJ60, its great, goes same places as my mates 80 and 100 series, for a fraction of the price. Its easy to work on, big engine bay.

ah the big 4.2ltr cruisers...
my parents used to have one, never took it off road tho.

i got a hilux... there ok in the sand, but dont have much power.. and get pretty bad fuel economy..

if ur into hardcore 4wding, find yourself a SWB patrol. they f**k rock.
But as bowsaw said, 5000 will get you a good nick 60's series. Just remember
HJ = Diesel
FJ = Petrol
