Looking for a sub $500 car that is reliable. Can be any make except holdung.

Toyota Corolla, Ford Telstar etc.

Reason is I'm sick of having my car stone chipped up the (not so) Great Northern Highway.

Cars are for driving and my XR8 will be for strict Saturday and Sunday use on any road except the Great Northern Highway.
Nothing wrong with wanting to keep my pride and joy looking schmick by avoiding those top quality Australian roads and super clean trucks that pass you in the other direction.

Why not drive the XR6 as a daily, and save the 8 for weekends?

Just a suggestion without meaning to offend.

The wife will take the XR6 to work. When I drive to work (I car pool) I take the XR6 but when my mate drives my wife takes the XR6. My wife takes the XR8 when I drive the XR6. I've noticed a couple of very small door dings in the rear passenger door on the XR8 that is caused by people from her work. I want to avoid it. It can only happen at her work seeing as the car is either in the garage at home or at her work. I'm very fussy when it comes to the condition of my cars.
I need a reliable s**t to save my XR8 from d***head, trucks and shopping trolleys.

I only have two cars.

Fair enough. I thought they were both your cars (ie. she has something else to drive as well). Good luck with finding something. The Quokka is you friend.

Yeah I will be buying a lot of the Quokka until I can find one.

Drove one yesterday a 87 Ford Telstar Ghia but it was overqualified for the s**t position.

Cheers :D
