Thanks guys, I've found what I was looking for :)

OK, I'm after a cheap and reliable ( :D ) daily car.

Any E-series is okay, or a cheap high kays AU. I'd prefer a wagon and late E-series is even better.

I don't really care about k's, colour, or condition. As long as it goes and is in a reasonable state.

I'd prefer it to be registered, but if it's within the three month period that's fine. But if it needs to go over the pits then it'll be okay if it doesn't have anything major to be done to it.

Any part of the state is fine, I like a good drive.

I can probably afford around 500-1000 at this stage, or around that, depending of condition. Of course at that price I'm not after something with low K's or in a flawless state.

Show me what you've got, I'm not fussy :) and I also need it fairly quickly, within the next month or so preferably.

Hmm, that's an interesting offer Ashcook.

Although I did notice it doesn't have power front windows? My old AUII AU had them?

So it's a going car? I'd prefer a registered one, what does yours need to pass?

And also, how far do you reckon it is from wherever the car is located an where the Spirit of Tasmania leaves NSW/VIC?

Thanks for all the looking into it you've done Ashcook, it's beginning to look pricey now, once you count purchase, rego, transport, wheel etc.

But again thanks, I'll definitely have a think and see how the bank account is looking

BTW, just how bad is the paint of it?

Yeah, well I could just chuck one some E-series offset wheels, they'd do temporarily.

Some more pics would be good, if you can be bothered.

I'm definitely not making any promises though sorry mate, I don't have much to chuck around..

Thanks for the pictures mate, might have to give it a miss if bidding starts at $1900, plus rego, inspection, transport, tyres etc..

Thanks anyways, and good luck with the sale.

Thanks mate, it would have been good except the transport thing..

OK, I'm still looking for a car, concentrating an E-series now. Still prefer a wagon.

As long as it goes, as is in a decent state I'll be interested.

As i said I'm not fussy on colour kays, etc. I'd prefer it to have rego or within the 3 month period. But if it doesn't need much for rego that's okay too.

No worries. I understand.

I'm meant to be having a guy come look at it this morning. I have $1600 on it now but if your still keen at all, you can have it for $1000 without the BF wheels. If it doesn't sell by Friday, it will be getting wrecked. But I'd prefer to get rid of it in one go.

Ah that's tempting. I'm actually going to have a look an an EF wagon (with leaky head gasket apparently..) this arvo for $600 without rego.

I'm not so sure I can really spend as much as I was going to unfortunately, I just had to spend more money of my XF due to a minor fire..

I was working it out and the rought figure I was was:

Car $1000 or so
Transportation $500
SoT trans: ~$250 (I guess I'd have to travel with the car from Vic/Melb)
Reg Inspection $90
Rego $300
Plus whatever a set of AU offset wheels would set me back.. But so far it's about $2140..

It's working out to be more than I want to spend really.

Thanks again though mate, it would have been good if you were in Tasmania :x

f**k!!! Your rego is cheap!! I'd expect anywhere from $700-$100 each for my cars. My utes are the worst.

No pressure at all, I'm just keen to move it. I have some bills to pay myself.

I hope the EF your going to look at works out. Good way to bargain if it has some issues. Start quoting machine and replacement parts costs.

That's $300 for six months. I think it's about $350+ for six months on my V8.. Too much IMO.
And why is your ute more? My ute is the same any any other six cylinder car I've had, Tasmania goes by the number of cylinders.

Yeah that's it, I'm not sure what sort of all-round condition it's in though, it may be completely rooted and beyond reasonable repair efforts.

Good luck with the sale BTW, I'm sure someone will want a cheap reliable AU.

Ah fair enough, I'd hate to register a F-model truck, the LWB F350 or something would be pricey..

Yeah true enough. They'd use a bit..

Well I went to have a look at the $600 EF wagon today.

Drives pretty well, got a few small issues but nothing too major I don't think.

I've arranged with the current owner to have a pit pass inspection done on it to see if it's worth while worrying about it..

Oh, it has mint condition hotwires on it! Perfect for my XC :D

I know, when I bought my XC the guy was very sure to mention that the wanted the hotwires back off it when I chucked on my own mags, and they were only a set of three, I'm not sure what happened to the forth.. And the condition of them wasn't great either.

People just seem to go nuts for them, me included, I love the look of hotwires on my XC, much better than the magnums..

I can't believe what hotwires are getting these days.

OK, while checking an XC/XD shifter I'm bidding on I just thought I'd look at the going price of hotwires, theres are going for $1400 with 2 days remaining..

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HOLDEN-HOTWIRE-W ... 2c5415651a

They are in a similar condition to the ones on the EF. They look perfect.

There's a few other sets going to $250 or so, the condition of the $1400 ones aren't worth an extra grand or so just because they're polished...

Yeah, all it takes it a set in good nick and then you could just give them a bit of a polish and the crowds will go insane..
