You can buy them brand new from strathfield. $120 for a semi-auto one and $130 for an auto one

Might be worth checking out eBay...I just had a quick look..no Genuine Ford ones, but there would surely be others on there that fit the falcon. I scored a genuine one for $25 a few months ago! :D

The aftermarket Aerpro (AP5) antenna is fully automatic...the Ford ones are semi-automatic (made to work with the semi-automatic half up / half down button on the dash).

Do your homework - they are different.

If you have a Gli / Futura / XR that doesn't have the semi-auto antenna, adding a fully auto antenna and using the trigger from an aftermarket headunit to go up and down with power on and off as well as source changes will see fairly good integration.

Dunno how well the AP5 integrates with the semi-auto setups as found in the Fairmonts / Ghias / Fairlanes ? *shrugs*

Some light reading on the subject is at http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=69 .

The BEM will need to be bypassed, and you can put the half height switch in the power line to the antenna - read the above doco for more suggestions on this.

Terrific snap0964 ! I've had both antennas in a couple of cars, but never went to the trouble to hook up the aftermarket one to a high series (due to high series already having the Ford OEM one)...good information to know though !

Well there you go - looks like AP5 is a winner as long as you don't mind disabling the functionality from the BEM - kudos :)

Thanks Steve.

Krytox: As an option you may be able to pick a unit up at a wreckers (maybe a self serve one) on the cheap - quite often they may be units with the mast snapped off, so being a non complete item, may be viable to get a new mast and fit it - I don't know for sure if the aerpro masts fit - would be nice as they'd be cheaper than a ford unit.

Damn andrew all you wanted was an orig Ford Aerial...
If you want we can get a converted string pully system that you can use, connect it from the Aerial, thru the dash and poke thru next to your steering wheel so you can pull it up or down!!!!.....
Untill such time as someone actually posts they have an orig for sale.. I can help it's the least I can do!!!!
