As it says,
I'm thinking of buying an EL2 xr8 as a project car.
Has to be series 2 (or a cheap enough series 1 to justify buying new manifolds etc), has to be manual, prefer bodykit.
Blue cars need not apply, prefer Hot Chilli Red or White.

If you know of any getting around for sale, let me know.
Thanks.

EL2 get the same heads as EL1s, E7TEs.
Only difference is manifolds, ie, explorer and EL GT 'extractors'.
EL GTs get GT40s, FBTs and XHII utes get the 40Ps.

For the price you'd payfor an EL2, probably cheaper to get EL1 and buy explorer or similar.
They are going for well under a grand now.
Depends what your goals are too, if its a project car, I dare say you'll be shooting for power, 200rwkw is the standard E-Series goal.
2 options there.. boost, or turf those F**k heads!
Check out clampys thread for inspiration, simple combo, big power.

absolute least i'm shooting for is 200rwkw, which is why i'm thinking if I start with the EL2 i can replace the heads and go straight for a supercharger and take advantage of the reasonable better flowing factory manifolds, this is all very theoretical for now, and my v8 knowledge is very limited apart from the fact I know I want a fast one :D - Can't ignore my love for EL XRs, as easily quick as the soarer is, it's not the same.
Truth be told I could spend like 2k on an ecu and dump pipe for the soarer and run a 12.9... but where's the fun in that? :p
